We are so lucky at trek divers so encounter these incredible animals. However with this juvenile female we have to say it’s bitter sweet. As you may see in this video, the top part of her tail fin has been badly damaged, most likely by a boat propeller, which is very likely going to impact her entire life and her ability to migrate like she normally would. We wish you all the best baby girl ! May the gods of the sea take care of you

The Trek Divers team would like to announce some really beautiful news .... if you have been following our recents posts you will see that in the last weeks we’ve had 2 great encounters with Oceanic Manta Rays, which is extremely rare in Seychelles. After posting about our sightings we were contacted by Lauren Peel from the Manta Trust Seychelles, and thanks to her and her team we were able to identify these 2 amazing females ( Strong, independant, females) . What is really really exciting for us, is that these are only the 6th and 7th Oceanic Mantas to have been identified in Seychelles... Wait, it gets better! They have previously not been identified, which meant that our crew got to choose names for them. The boys who first got eyes on them were given the honour of naming them, and have both chosen names that are close to their hearts. Meet Janine and Camilla the beautiful oceanics that blessed us with their presence, we hope to see you both again, somewhere, some day Karim Pillay Randy Fideria
