Helena has two main reasons for wanting to be stronger:
1) To help her golf game ⛳️ and to be able to play for longer
2) To remain physically independent as she gets older.
The 80kg deadlift she did today - we started at 40kg - will defintely help both 💪

The race for complexity within the fitness world is, more often than not, a race to the bottom.
And a personal trainer/coach that has their client do 17 rubber band drills in lieu of something that can actually be, and therefore drive, progress, may very well win that race.
But that's the problem with a race to the bottom - you might win.

It’s rather remarkable, what can happen when training is kept simple, with the focus being on you making clear and measurable progress. It’s human nature to enjoy getting better at things, even if (especially if) it requires a bit of hard work.
And the barbell, a simple piece of steel that you can put weights on, is still one of the best (if not the best) tool we have for your training to be as effective, rewarding and fun as possible.

Stuart has done an incredible amount of work on his hip and ankle mobility, core strength, back strength and posture…by simply getting stronger in the squat 💪
