I wanted to become a professional football player, just like my idols on the posters that covered my bedroom wall. I dreamed of traveling around the world, playing in sold out stadiums in front of thousands of fans with my name on the back of their jerseys. I wanted give my all to the people who put their hearts on the line for me to bring fame and glory to their team and city. So I went for the d
ream, and even though it wasn’t easy, it brought me to places I could never imagine. Thanks to it, I’ve felt the cold water in the lakes of Finland, seen the smoke of Iceland’s volcanos cover the sky, and experienced parts of Spain that you can’t read about in the guide books. During my years as an athlete, I spent countless hours on buses, trains and planes, on my way to the next game or returning home from it. During these hours, music came to play a very big role, either as a way to focus or simply to pass time after a heavy defeat. My headphones became as important as my football shoes, but I quickly got tired of models breaking or not delivering the sound quality I wished for. At that point I started getting more and more interested in the technology hiding behind the plastic shell, making me more conscious and fastidious when purchasing a new pair of headphones. Soon that interest started growing into something much bigger. One dark autumn day, I was on a bus in my hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden. The rain was coming down hard against the windshields, when I realized I had forgotten my headphones at home that day. Just as that thought struck my mind, I replaced my childhood dream of becoming the world’s greatest football player with a new goal. I decided to develop the set of headphones I wished for during those countless hours on the bus, and I was determined to equip them with a sound quality so great I could put my name on them. A pair that I could bring on my continuous journey through life. It all started in a little boy’s room, with Maradona on the walls.
