It all started in 2002 with a few too many beers, a drawing on a napkin and a crazy bet. Four friends divided in two pairs decided to go through the Stockholm archipelago, from Utö to Sandhamn. They would run across land, swim from island to island and the last pair to arrive in Sandhamn would be paying for everyone’s hotel, dinner and drinks. ÖTILLÖ Åland Kids race! So much fun to see so many young athletes across all race distances in Åland. The Kids race was for the very youngest, who faced the most challenging conditions of the whole weekend, battling wind and rain, but having fun all the way.
ÖTILLÖ Åland is a Swimrun adventure in the true sense of ÖTILLÖ. Congratulations to all who participated today and took on this massive challenge! Åland presented itself in the most beautiful way and gave us amazing racing conditions. We could not have asked for more!

It’s also our final race before the 20th ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship.

Let’s celebrate 10 years of Swimrun at Casco Bay!
550 racers - among them 14 Elite athletes - and their friends and families, are heading to Maine this weekend to take on the beautiful Casco Bay course and enjoy a day of Swimrun together.
