𝗚𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗚 𝗥𝗛𝗬𝗧𝗛𝗠 𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 Teacher & Performer - 𝐌𝐈𝐊𝐀𝐄𝐋𝐀 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍

Mikaela Hellsten is a dancer, choreographer and teacher in Lindy Hop, African American Vernacular Jazz, and Tap. She has been sharing her work all over the world, and performing credits include “The Last Bounce” at Globen, Stockholm, and “Frankie 100” at The Apollo Theater, NYC.

Mikaela discovered Lindy Hop in the late 90s and immediately fell in love with the dance. Since then, that love, as well as the love for tap and jazz, has only increased. The more she learns about jazz and its history, the more she finds it to be a lesson for everyday life and now she finds it hard to see a life without jazz.
With that deep appreciation for jazz music and the history (+ she sings and plays the drums!), she has a fountain of knowledge that she brings into her approach to the dance.

Her background also includes competing at an elite level, and she holds World and European Champion titles in Lindy Hop. Currently Mikaela is Co-Head Coach for the Swedish National Team.

Mikaela has a strong engagement in the culture and that for example manifests in being board member both with us in Rytmsektionen and the non-profit organization CVFC - Collective Voices for Change.
She is also very passionate about brining the arts to the youth, and she has produced and performed in many children's shows, with dance collective Kalabalindy and in other settings.
