The preliminary draws and schedule have now been published on Sportdata.

Please check your athletes and categories carefully and inform us of any errors or discrepancies that need to be corrected no later than Wednesday.
All draws will be considered final on Thursday and may then be printed and distributed. No further changes can be guaranteed after that point.

Free admission for spectators.

Please note the following important information:
1. Athletes who are alone in their category have been moved to the nearest higher weight category.
2. Team categories with only one registered team will be cancelled.
3. Repechage will be used in all categories.
4. All Kata events will be performed individually and not as Duo Kata.
6. Kaiten is the official sponsor of the competition and will be present at the venue.
7. No accreditation or coach badges will be provided by the organizer.
8. Swedish coaches must hold a valid coach license.

Dear Athletes and Club Leaders,

- Registration for the Gothenburg Elite Open will close on May 30 at 23:59 (GMT+1).
- No changes to registrations will be accepted after May 30.
- All registration fees must be paid no later than May 31.

Please ensure that your registrations and payments are completed before the deadlines to avoid any issues.

Information about the Liseberg discount has been sent to all registered clubs through Sportdata.

If you are a competitor and have not received the discount information, please contact your club representative or the person responsible for your club’s Sportdata registration. They have received the instructions and discount code needed to access the offer.

This weekend, our officials and volunteers took part in a dedicated training session focused on competition operations and the collaboration between the different roles that contribute to a high-quality event.

By refining procedures, communications between responsibilities, we are building the foundation for a smooth and professional tournament experience.

A successful competition starts with thorough preparation.

Information till Svenska klubbar

Tävlingsavgiften för svenska barn i åldern 10–13 år är sponsrad av SKF. Observera att Sportdata ändå kommer att visa dessa deltagare som betalningsskyldiga. Detta är en teknisk begränsning i systemet.

Svenska klubbar ska därför endast betala startavgifter för tävlande som är 14 år eller äldre.

Skyddsutrustning
För samtliga barnklasser 10–13 år är hjälm och utanpåliggande kroppsskydd obligatoriskt i kumite.
Vi har bestämt att låna ut hjälm och kroppsskydd vid respektive tatami.
Skyddsutrustningen delas ut direkt före match och kan inte hämtas ut i förväg.
Vi vill även passa på och informera att klubbar kan söka karatelyft för att köpa dessa utrustning, 8 par per förening, genom förbundet.

Vi rekommenderar dock att deltagarna använder egen skyddsutrustning om möjligt, både av hygieniska skäl och för att undvika onödiga förseningar vid mattan.

Regarding body protectors and contact to the head:
In all kumite categories, body protectors must be worn.
For children aged 10–13 years, an external body protector and helmet are mandatory.
From the age of 14, body protectors must be worn underneath the karate gi.

Contact to the head by kicks or punches for children aged 10–13 years (including U14) in kumite is currently not permitted in Sweden.

Update: New Categories Added to the Competition

After many requests, we have now decided to expand the number of categories for the competition.
Children aged 10 and 11 are now also allowed to register in both kata, kumite. and mixed team kata.

Please note that WKF-approved helmets and body protectors are obligatory for all children competing in kumite categories aged 10 to 13.
