☝️day 2 and game 3 of Men's Roller Derby World Cup 🥰
In his speech at the parade, Justin Primmer said some pretty important things about the continuous work to make sure our sport is a safer space ❤️ He also shared a dream about a future where the Japanese team would be as popular as their uniforms. Well, yes to both from our end! It really felt like we were just all happy to be there, on the track together.

🍁Throwback to the game we knew we would lose – where we found ourselves again 💪
The hall was small, packed and hot like a sauna, the opponent strong and the time too short, but boy did we have fun! Just go back to our last post and compare the faces: The difference in mental space is evident. Even the Finns had feelings 👀
With how Men's Roller Derby World Cup was set up, the biggest loss among the three first short games was omitted from calculations. We we pretty sure this game would be that game for us (and it was). But we're pretty proud this game was that game for Team Canada Roller Derby too 🤩

Pics don't lie ❤️🩹
How was our first game at Men's Roller Derby World Cup? It was harsh. We were frustrated. Spent too much time in the box. Struggled to come together on the track. Battled with our own expectations.
It was a lot. We lost. Then we reset. And it only went uphill from here.
Men's Roller Derby Team Italy were a tough opponent, and deserved the win 100% 😘

Missing derby?
It feels like yesterday and at the same time like a lifetime ago – with three months since world cup we are here with a throwback to Men's Roller Derby World Cup 😍 and some wonderful pictures from warmups, taken by our official World Cup photographer R'n'R Photography.
We will be posting highlights from the games we played too, stay tuned!
Our Nordic roller derby project was about more than one World Cup: We also wanted to connect players and leagues across the Nordic countries and build culture and community. Did we succeed? At least in some ways, and we'll be posting more about that throughout this fall.
