The skating season is here. And the forecast is very good with low temperatures and more ice. Now it's time for a lot of skating.
Due to Covid-19, it is difficult to arrange skating tours as we usually do. Our normal trips are canceled right now. But we can offer guided ice skating tours in a different way than we usually do.
We find the best ice and we guide you on the ice as normal.😎
You have to arrange the transports yourself. As well as accommodation, (but we can take care of the booking if you want).
Currently only for private groups with a maximum of 7 people. We might arrange open tours later in February.

The strange winter in Sweden continues. Some days with temperatures below minus 7 and two days later plus 7 degrees. A lot of good ice and no snow, but you have to travel about two hours north of Stockholm. Last weekend our guide Michel managed to find fantastic ice on Lake Nordellen near Hudiksvall. Last Sunday, John found perfect ice on Vikasjön in Falun even though the temperature was + 7 and it was raining.
Our big winter event Wasaloppet, which starts this weekend, is struggling with the snow. They are doing a fantastic job of preparing the 90 km long track. And that while there is much more snow than normal in Ljungdalen another 300 km north.
We look forward to another three skating holidays, and it is still possible to join. Next week will be colder with temperatures below zero.
Later in March we move north to ski, and with a lot of snow we will probably have very good conditions for skiing in April.

The skating season is here, even though the weather is warmer than normal there is plenty of option for skating. You only need to travel a little more north than normal. This picture is from Friday on a lake close to Ludvika.

Here is a ice report / forecast for the coming weekend.

This weekend a lot of groups have been skating on a lot of lakes in a region from Baltic sea to the Norwegian border. Above Gävle, around Falun and futher west towards Vansbro. North of Sundsvall two persons have skated 110 km on the river Indalsälven, and also a bit on the Baltic sea.

The weather forecast indicate that we will have temperatures above zero during the days and some degrees below zero during the night the next 10 days. And no forecast for snow or rain. Will probably have same situation as today the coming weekend and beginning of next week. The ice that we have will remain, and we will probably not get any new ice.

The skating season is here for sure. 10 degrees below zero and clear sky makes the ice grow fast. We can already offer skating weekends in the north of Sweden if you and your friends are interested. And while waiting for the first group to come, we skate a lot to get in good shape.

Skating premiere,
Already on Sunday, the sixth of October, Louise Östberg in Funäsdalen took this season's first ice skating tour. It's unusual early, she says.

Also this year we had the privilege to host a group of international students from Linköping University. Great people from six continents, first time in a Swedish forest for most of them. For a change we had great weather during a long day with a lot of team activities.
