Next player presentation is.......
Name: Mattias Nordin
Year of birth: 1998
Club: BMK Aura
Category: Mens singles

Best badminton-memory/achievment?
The best achievement I’ve got so for in my short career, was when I became number 1 in mens singles u19, on the national rankings, after a couple of well played tournaments.
What made you start practice at MBA?
Well, I’ve practiced with the players during my junior years so I knew they had high practice-level and the coaches have great experiences and knowledge within the sport. Together we make a great team and thats why I started to practice at MBA.
What do you do when you're not playing badminton?
I’m currently working at a clothing store called Hollister. And on my free time I like to spend time with family, friends, read books and of course, watch a LOT of badminton!
Hidden talent?
Really good at FIFA.

Best badminton-memory/achievment?
It’s hard to pick of all fun memories and good accomplishments, but to participate in the U17 European Championship in both the individual and team event is a great memory for me. The best achievment is probably when I become Swedish champion 2018 in double in the Junior class (U19) - no one was expecting that😅
What made you start practise at MBA?
Good players and an extremely skilled coach. Both things give you the opportunity to improve during good training sessions. It’s also a big advantage that you during your training weeks could go to Denmark for training/league-matches.
What do you do when you're not playing badminton or training in the gym?
I work at Löplabbet where we mainly sell running shoes to active athletes and runners. So are you in need of running shoes you know where I am, a buddy-discount may occur😉 Except working at Löplabbet, I’m also a trainer. Moreover, I’m a very social person - I like to spend my free time hanging out with people, whether it’s a dinner together or a dive in the ocean in Västra Hamnen.
Hidden talent?
I have a photografic memory🤓

This week Victor Zuhr and I (Jesper de Waal) are in Sofia to play Bulgarian international. We arrived yesterday and managed to get a bit of training in the hall as seen in the video. Both of us were satisfied with the playing conditions, maybe a slight difference in ends but nothing that we wont be able to control. Qualification starts today at 1:30 pm local time and Victor is playing against a Bulgarian player. Jesper goes into the tournament at 3 pm against either a turkish or czech player.
Hope to give you good news later!
Some of our players are not just training a lot, but also studying at the university. Jesper de Waal is one example who studies sport science, where he for example gets a good insight in physiology and how to test different physical qualities. Take a look at this post from yesterday's anaerobic max test!
