Malmös två ligor, Crime City Rollers och Malmö Royal Roller Derby arrangerarde en gratis Festival den 12-14 juli 2016 (samt 2013) på Stapelbäddsparken i Malmö.

Vi hoppas att festivalen kan bli fler gånger i framtiden. Roller Derby är en sport som har vuxit lavinartat i Sverige och Världen. Det är idrott för alla. I Malmö har intresset för Roller Derby tagit en väldig fart och vi i CCR & MRRD vill visa upp för allmänheten hur spelet går till och vad det går ut på. Därför arrangerar vi denna festival i år igen. e vid havet, det är en öppen park och är Europas näst största utomhus skatingpark. Dessutom Europas första fasta utomhus Derbybana. Festivalen kommer vara öppen för alla, dvs. inget inträde. Festivalen kommer att hålla Malmö Cup, ha Dj's, Night Skate Malmö, Roller Disco, Derby Modevisning, uppträdanden, aktiviteter för barn. Försäljning av mat och dryck, dock inte alkohol, kommer att föregå. Möjligheter att prova på sporter som Kettlebell, utomhus gym, Hoola hoops och Roller Derby kommer också att finnas gratis under dessa dagar. Vi kommer ha en Malmö Cup, en Merbymatch (herrlag) och två mixade matcher för de som inte spelar i cupen. Inbjudningar och hur anmälan kommer gå till kommer att skickas ut under Mars månad. Derbyfestival in Malmö! We hope there will be a festival again in the future.

12-14 of July (2016) there will be Malmö Roller Derby Festival! Roller Derby is an upcoming sport in Sweden as well as in the whole world. It's mainly a womens sport but mens teams are starting to develop. The interest for Roller Derby in Malmö has grown rapidly and we in CCR & MRRD want to give the opportunity for everyone to learn what Roller Derby is all about. That's why we want to do this Festival again this year. Stapelbäddsparken is located in Västra Hamnen down by the ocean, and it's an public park, Europes second largest outdoor skatingpark. It also has Europes only permanent outdoor Derbytrack. The Festival is open for everyone and free of charge. The Festival will be presenting live music from two scenes and Dj's, Night Skate Malmö, Roller Disco, Derby Fashion Show, performanses, activities for children and lectures about sports and health. There will be sales of food and drinks (not any alcohol). There will be opportunity to try sports like Kettlebell, Ruffie, outdoor gym, acrobatics, Capoeira and Roller Derby, all for free. A Malmö Cup will be held. Also an merbygame and two mixedteam games for those who aren't participating any of the other games. Invitations and information how to apply will be sent out during March. So get your Picknickbasket ready and bring your friends and family to the Malmö Derby Festival!

We have decided to let the Festival and the organizers rest 2014 but will soon release a date for "MRDF 2015"! We love our festival and will put all love and effort into making the next one the best ever!

Swedish Meatwalls räckte hela vägen - Malmö - Skånskan.se MALMÖ: Tre dagars festivalande slutade med svensk framgång när Roller derby-festivalen avslutades för denna gång ute i Stapelbäddsparken.

"The Swedish Meatwalls, Dark Side Of The Mooncups (FIN), Nor Thugs (NOR) and Little Red Whiting Hood (DEN) showed us a tournament. Fathers & Sons vs Hossa gave us Merby. Stephanie Mainey did workshops. Skaters from everywhere played pick-up scrimmages. Refs & NSO's from all over Europe kept it real, vendors shared their expertise, food sold, workshops and shows of parcour and cheerleeding, Great DJ's, friends meeting up and summertime sunshine made this weekend a FANTASTIC EVENT! We said we wanted epic -we got it!"

Deadline for submission! - 17,00 Saturday
Where?- At the information desk inside the stapel building! Please write name and league VERY clearly!
When do we know if we can participate? - 18.00 Sunday - there will be a list in the information desk and we will do our best to post it on the FB page. If there is more then 60 ppl that register Stef have kindly offered to do an early Sunday morning (8.30) Workshop for those that didn't make the first draw! We will have to take a decision 18.00 on Saturday and inform you there and then. Only pre-registered participants on the workshop please!

Please show up for the workshop on time and with a shirt with name and/or number. Both men and woman, skaters and ref, who turned 18 years are welcome!

Full Roller Derby equipment including mouthguard is required.
