Rookie Cup race report!
Mechanic-dad spent majority of the day with a big headache so some of the details might be fuzzy!

Overall it went very well. Lots of clean good racing, great starts and no major mishaps (there was a spin or two during rain) and we came out of the day feeling strong, whole, accident free and with many thoughts and feelings for the future.

It started a bit shaky in the morning but we tried an emergency approach of moving in the front wheels (Something we actually haven't done before. Mechanic dad doesn't do to much tinkering with anything right now in fear of making it worse).

Regardless, after a race or so it seemed to have helped Alvar a lot and he became much more consistent as the day went on. Especially after some theoretical practice where I saw he had let people slip by him a few times in a corner and gave a suggestion to prevent it.

I think he was generally top four in the last few races but as I said, Fuzzy details and hard to keep track once you overtake someone and the field gets a bit mixed.

In one of the later races they started the race when he was far behind in the formation lap around 11th yet he managed to end up at fourth even with an accidental spin. It was a semi wet lap.

Head ache aside we had alot of fun, We believe Alvar can be a really strong consistent contender with the right support and backing and I think the overall take away from this competition is...

As for the future. Stay tuned! Alvar showed what he’s capable of this weekend, and it feels like we’re only just getting started. There’s a lot more to come!

Whole day training on saturday and big race on sunday is now over. I (the mechanic) had a horrible tension headache and powered through on the sunday. Sorry if i wasnt more talkative.

Alvar did a great job this weekend. I believe I am the one holding him back from climbing higher now. I need to learn more about race craft, settings and give him more opportunities to learn. But we all had fun and I don’t think we had any major mishaps. Now we rest!
