Ten rules for life - The road to success

It has been a while since I wrote here.

And the truth is simple. It is not because I had nothing to say.

It is because I have been in the middle of it.

Building. Pushing. Taking risks. Taking responsibility.
Periods where there is no room for talking. Only for delivering.

Over the past years I have been deeply involved in building a company focused on developing modern care homes with quality, dignity and long term thinking. Environments where older people can live with safety, function and respect.

For me this is not just a business.

It is personal.

My grandmother Wilma was one of the people who shaped my view on responsibility, dignity and how we should treat older people. What she stood for has stayed with me longer than I probably understood at the time.

That is why it means something real to now build something that reflects those values.

But this journey has also reminded me of something else.

It is easy to talk about success.
It is easy to write goals.
It is easy to say what you should do.

It is something completely different to actually do it.
Day after day. When it is hard, unclear and uncomfortable.

That is where your life is decided.

Everything I write, in my books and here, comes down to the same thing.

Not motivation.
But discipline.
Structure in chaos.
Responsibility.

Because you do not become who you want to be by thinking about it.

You become it by what you do.
Consistently. Over time.

And sometimes that requires something most people avoid.

Hard self coaching.

Telling yourself the truth.
Cutting the excuses.
Correcting your course again and again until you are aligned with who you want to be.

It is not comfortable.

But it is necessary.

And it is where real strength is built.

I will start writing here again.

Not to impress.
But to be clear. Honest. Direct.

And maybe remind you of something you already know.

It is never too late to straighten your back.
It is never too late to take full responsibility.
It is never too late to start building something better.

In your work.
And within yourself.
