It's funny, this early postpartum time...
You suddenly live a slow life, yet your mind is racing & calculating nap and feeding times on the daily, you go p*e in a rush & your environment is a constant mess.
Despite this paradox, you learn to enjoy & find beauty in the smallest of things. 🌸
To everyone who feel orhave felt the difficulty of the 1st months, it does get better.....sooo much better. 💗

During postpartum, it's not just the ABS that require your attention.
Your whole body is screaming for it as being at home with your babe is freaking strenuous for the body. I'll say it again....it's FREAKING tough for the body.
Having experienced it myself now, I am so proud & happy to see that I've prioritised & created my postpartum Pilates workouts the right way - in a way that works through your whole body, giving attention not just on strength-building but also release, stretch & mobility.
You need it all to kick ass, girl!

Pilates for me is so much more than just strength building.
➰️ First and foremost, it helps me live pain-free (I have suffered from chronic lower back pain for many years).
➰️ It's a form of rehab in my postpartum time - Pilates that I teach is super modifiable which makes it easy to adjust to various levels & physical needs.
➰️ It keeps my body functional - Pilates is all about functionality, supporting the most common activities you do in your daily life.
➰️ It keeps my joints healthy - the isolated & small movements incorporated in the practice support healthy joints.
➰️ It maintains & builds flexibility in my body. "We are only as old as our spine is flexible." Wise words from the founding father of Pilates.
➰️ It is a form of moving meditation for me - doing a class with its coordination & specific movements requires all my attention which means that I do not have time to worry about my groceries lists. It's such a restoration for the mind.
..these are just a few things out of many that Pilates can offer. Let's re-think & shed the bad rep from Pilates by which many feel it's only for the strong. That is not true at all.
Pilates is FOR EVERY BODY!

I mentioned I was lonely and had been struggling a bit. ...and she was here 2 days straight. Taking long walks with me, driving us to the doc's appointment, cooking me lunch, exploring fun cafes around. 💛 and it had such a boost on my mental health!
Every postpartum mama deserves a friend like her. Thank you Arianna / for being there for us and for being you! ✨️

I have been teaching postpartum Pilates since I started teaching actively, 5 years ago.
Today, I got to be the student 🧘♀️
.and oh, how interesting it is to be on the other side of things.
I am 8 weeks postpartum & when Lena / asked me to pull both legs up into Tabletop, I have to admit that my eyes widened & I was scared. But I did it...cause I have my Foundations.
Then, she asked me to tilt my legs, to do a twist (seen on the photo) & I thought she must be kidding thinking that I can do this. But I did it because I am stronger than I think, even though it doesn't feel like it in the moment. And she is there to support & hold me though it! 💪
Postpartum pilates feels soft & slow but it has these small core challenges that are hard as hell if done correctly. You don't sweat, you might not even have sore muscles the day after but the progress sneaks up on you...and it's magic ✨️
Saturdays 9am will be my magic Pilates time with Lena. I cannot wait to explore my new body further & be back to teach you all again when I feel ready! 💛
