After more than twenty years, Natha Yoga Center in Sweden is coming to an end.
It is difficult to put into words what these years have meant to us. We feel immense gratitude, and a lot of emotion as we look back.
Thousands of people have walked through the doors of our yoga halls. Some came for a course and then continued with their lives. Others stayed for ten, fifteen or twenty years. We have spent an enormous amount of time together – practising, teaching, talking, playing, sitting in silence, creating art, organising events and simply sharing life and visions.
When we started, as a young group of enthusiastic souls, ta**ra was still largely unknown in Sweden. We had the privilege of introducing these teachings to many people. We initiated the first ta**ra festival in Malmö and continued it successfully for many years. A community grew around the school. Friendships were formed, people fell in love, lives changed direction. And of course, there were also difficult periods and roller coasters of challenges.
We learned a great deal through all of this. We learned from the things that went well, but also from mistakes and from things we would do differently today. Twenty years of working with people and spiritual practice have transformed us. They have given us experience and maturity, but also more humility about how much there always is to still learn.
We are deeply grateful for what this project has given us.
At the same time, the world in which we started Natha Sweden no longer exists. People's lives have changed enormously during these twenty years, and so have the ways people learn, meet and engage with spiritual practice.
Our own understanding has changed too.
Ta**ra has never been meaningful to us as something frozen in a particular form. A living spiritual teaching has to speak to the reality people are actually living in, to their current needs. Over time, we increasingly felt that some things needed to transform quite profoundly if what we had learned was to remain useful, alive and meaningful for people.
Eventually we realised that the changes we wanted to make needed more than an adjustment of the existing form. They needed a new space.
Continuous transformation has been our motto for all these years, and sometimes that also implies endings. We have been meditating, contemplating, discussing and processing many deep and complex emotions regarding this project and everything we shared, and after a lot of meaningful considerations felt that its the time for great shifts.
This is why we have decided to close Natha Yoga Center in Sweden.
We do so with deep gratitude, grief, joy and with respect for everything that has happened here. And especially for the wonderful people who made it possible, who put so much heart in this beautiful vision we all shared. We offer our gratitude for every single person who gave to this project, of their time, energy, care and trust over the many years.

Some of the eldsjälar (passionate souls) who have been part of this long journey are now starting a new independent creative project called Spanda.
Spanda has its own vision and direction. It is something new, created from where these people find themselves today and from what they have learned along the way.
We will let them tell their own story.
