I don’t actually LOVE training. 😅
What I love is what training gives me.
I love feeling strong, capable and athletic.
I love knowing I’m investing in my health and longevity.
I love what it does for my riding.
And I love knowing that being stronger, more balanced and more mobile ultimately makes things easier for my horses. 🐴🤍
But spending hours in the gym just for the sake of it? Not for me.
I want my training to be efficient, effective and purposeful. I want to know exactly what I’m doing — and WHY I’m doing it.
And I think a lot of riders feel the same.
You don’t need to live in the gym to become a better athlete for your horse. But you DO need the right training, with the right exercises, for the right reasons.
That’s why having a structured plan makes such a difference.

🐴 The best riders don’t just train harder. They train smarter.
With the World Championships in full swing, one thing stands out in the dressage today;
Pressure changes everything.
Horses become more alert. More reactive. Sometimes a little tense. And that’s exactly when the rider’s body becomes even more important.
Can you stay balanced without gripping?
Can you rotate without collapsing?
Can you stabilise without becoming stiff?
Because the quieter and more organised your body is, the clearer your communication becomes.
This is why I love this exercise. 💪🏼
It combines rotational control with adductor strength —two qualities that are essential for every rider.
✨ It helps you maintain an independent seat.
✨ It improves your ability to absorb movement without losing your balance.
✨ It develops strength where riders often compensate.
✨ And it teaches your body to stay stable while still allowing movement.
Whether you’re asking for more expression in the dressage arena, galloping across country, or riding a technical show jumping track, your horse needs a rider who can stay organised under pressure.
Your body should reduce the noise—not add to it. 🤍
💾 Save this for your next training session.
📤 Share it with a riding friend.
