The Runic Reformation will be presented in a few weeks at the Runosophic Symposium in western Sweden. The title of the opening presentation says it all:

What the Futhark Happened Here?

By the end of the seminar, the audience should have a clear and comprehensive answer to that question. Further details and a presentation outline are available on the author's profile for friends.

Up for a Serious Discussion on Runes?

I really miss having deep and meaningful conversations about mythology and runes. Unfortunately, Facebook has become rather useless for that kind of exchange these days. I used to manage a couple of groups where excellent discussions took place, but over time I simply lost the motivation to keep them going.

This is why I am genuinely looking forward to the Runosophic Symposium in a couple of weeks.

I am eager to hear the presentations by both Thomas Karlsson and Mummel Man, and I am equally excited to present my work on the Runic Reformation — especially to see how the highly qualified individuals attending will receive my thesis.

My work provides the first precise explanation for why the Younger Futhark contains exactly sixteen runes, as well as the first structured proposal regarding its graphical uniformity. It further presents a coherent explanation for why the Younger Futhark appears fundamentally awkward from a purely linguistic perspective, demonstrating why it cannot be understood through linguistic runology alone.

These questions are not inventions of my own. They concern longstanding problems within runology that have remained unresolved for more than a century. The thesis argues that they can be understood as interconnected aspects of a single underlying structure.

Based on my current commitments and priorities, I do not anticipate presenting the Runic Reformation thesis very often over the coming year. For that reason, the symposium represents a rare opportunity to engage with the work in a live setting and to take part in the discussion that follows.

We just noticed that there are two lingering copies of the retired first English edition of Stav available on Amazon UK. Once they are gone, the revised third edition will be the only version available.

Once the last copies of the first edition have disappeared from the market, it will only be found through antiquarian booksellers and on private bookshelves.

Perhaps these two copies are future collectibles, quietly waiting to be adopted?

Unlock the hidden structure of the Younger Futhark through Stav's unique blend of philosophy and practice. This comprehensive book offers a long-awaited passageway into Stav, a living tradition where personal development, discipline, and Norse philosophy converge. Structured around the Younger Fu...

The organiser of the Runosophic Symposium in late October has indicated that there is considerable interest in the available spots — don’t miss out. Roland will present The Runic Reformation and intends to introduce material that goes beyond what was included in the publication.

There are no formal reviews of The Runic Reformation yet, but readers who have commented informally have expressed strong impressions of the thesis — noting that it addresses a major unresolved gap within traditional runology.

Roland has just returned from a week in northern England, where he instructed at the Stav Summer Camp 2026. He led three practical sessions in martial arts and gave several talks on Stav from a theoretical perspective — presenting his new thesis from The Runic Reformation and sharing insights into structural keys embedded in the book Stav.

This year’s camp brought together participants from across the UK, as well as from Europe and the United States. Several attendees shared that the author’s presence was a strong motivating factor for joining the event.

Keep your eyes open — another event for later this autumn will be announced shortly.

The Runic Reformation is climbing the charts in the UK. It's so newly released that it has not been categorised yet. But a comparison shows that it would currently be positioned at spot #5 within the category !

The thesis presented is ground breaking so it's not a chock that it draws attention. We are looking forward to see the first responses from the readers! Have you read it yet?
