Classic Vidösternsimmet +21km Challenge 2026 Champion!
Hampus Carlsson of Växjö Simsällskap crossed the finish line as the winner of the Classic +21 km challenge (wetsuit) and was awarded not one, but two medals!
Alongside the standard race medal, he received the prestigious golden 5-year medal inscribed with 107 500 m – the total distance of five crossings of Lake Vidöstern.
What an incredible achievement, Hampus! 💪🏊♂️

Exactly one week ago, the swimmers on the bus from Best Western Hotel Värnamo arrived at the start area of Vidösternsimmet.
It was a beautiful morning at 05:55 as the chartered bus from sponsor Schulz Resor wound its way along the narrow road between grain fields and pastures. The rays of the rising sun glittered on the lake and reflected off the bus’s blue paint, and the film ends with the bus pulling into the start-area parking.
