Nu monterar vi riggar! Vanten är numera splitsad tunn Dynema som fäster med lärkhuvud i båda ändar. Detta blir snyggt, justerbart och helt utan "hårda" delar så som karbiner etc. Hela konstruktionen är nu lättare men även tystare.

Efter ett upphåll under vintern börjar det nu dra i segeltarmen. Med lite mer värme i luften och friska vårvindar kommer vi att ha segel på våra kajaker på allt fler turer nu. So we got a few hard word here on FB from the most well known brand in the small pond of kayak sailing -Flat Earth kayak sails. Basically they claim that we ripped off their sail.
Well, we did not. The whole idea behind our sails are born from us wanting something else than the sails they sell as it all started with us purchasing a couple of Flat Earth sails and not being very impressed.
We thought that for this kind of money surely we can build something better. When we started to work with North Sails and went through the prototype iterations we quickly wanted even more performance and ended up with a slightly more expensive sail. But a sail that truly rocks. The sails do look similar on a picture but in real life there is no comparison.
Copying would have been infinitely easier but we would just have ended up with more of the sails we did not like.
However we did not invent the sail, the fathead model or the very idea of putting sails on kayaks. Flat Earth has been leading the way of kayak sails alone for a long time. Our aim is to push the development forward in a direction we like. We are just scratching our own itch.

Idag provade vi att segla i 10-12 sekundmeters vind. Funkar och är jättekul men inte den mest avslappnande aktiviteten.

Kort lunchtur i sydlig vind. Seglet briljerar på kryssen söderut. Bra fartkänsla och stabilitet.
