On 26th July, 9 of our resilient young karate-kas (aged 8 to 18) stepped onto the tatami at the Singapore Badminton Hall @ Expo to represent GRKAS Singapore! Competing against over 200 participants from across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, our team showcased grit, discipline, and heart. We are beyond proud to celebrate their impressive achievements across both Kata and Kumite events! 🏆🔥

*Reflecting on the GRKAS Kata Seminar and Dan Grading 2026*

​On June 27 and 28, the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Association Singapore (GRKAS) successfully hosted its international Kata Seminar and Grading at Kebun Baru Community Club.

​We were privileged to welcome MP Kwek, Member of Parliament and Advisor to Kebun Baru CC and Patron to GRKAS, as our Guest of Honour for the opening ceremony.

​The two-day event brought together over 80 practitioners from Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong. It was a masterclass in tradition and technique, featuring invaluable instruction from senior JKF Gojukai Masters: Sato Sensei, Takegawa Sensei, Maekawa Sensei, and Horiuchi Sensei.

​ *Technical Excellence:* Deep-dive sessions into advanced kata and its applications, fostering a high level of regional knowledge exchange.

​ *The Ultimate Test:* The weekend culminated in the JKF Gojukai Dan grading, marking a significant milestone in each participant's personal karate journey.

​ *Camaraderie* : The event concluded with a celebratory Sayonara Dinner, uniting the regional karate community over good food and shared fellowship.
