“A journey of a thousand miles of erg rowing begins with a single row”. After hours of relentless training sessions both on and off water, meticulous organisation and coordination by our team captains and the organising committee, we finally made it to Hualien, Chinese Taipei for the 15th IDBF Club Crew World Championships.
We were pumped up and ready to give all in the races. And gave it all we did. With each race in the 500m, 200m and 2000m Premier Mixed categories, we paddled with all our might…one boat, one spirit and one goal - to leave it all out there. Nothing left in the tank.
The strongest teams made it to the podium but we walked away from each race with our heads held high and our hearts full, in the knowledge that we had all done our best. We dug deep and achieved new personal best results.
It was an honour and privilege to compete with the best of the best on an international stage of 21 countries, more than 150 teams and 5,000 athletes and supporters.
A huge thank you and kudos to Official IDBF and to each and everyone on the organising committees, the officials, staff and volunteers of for such a well-organised and spectacular event.
We would also like to thank our supporters who were cheering us on at home ground, our families and friends who put up with us during our relentless training journey and the sacrifices made along the way.
