On 25 & 29 May, we held our annual NICA Branch General Meetings (BGMs)! 🎉

More than a platform to share our branch’s progress, achievements and challenges, the BGMs are a valuable opportunity for coaches and instructors to come together, exchange ideas, raise key issues 💬 and strengthen our community 🤝.

𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 😊 Thank you to our Branch Leaders for facilitating the BGMs, as well as our members who generously shared your experiences, concerns and ideas💡. NICA recognises the importance of ongoing discussions on the evolution of school sports. At the same time, references to certain sports as having limited pathways reflect a narrow perspective and may not fully capture the continued efforts of coaches, educators, and athletes who are actively developing these disciplines.

We also note that views expressed by individuals in positions of influence can carry added weight and may shape perceptions among parents and schools, influence programme continuity, and affect participation and coaching opportunities. For many of our members who are actively coaching Tchoukball, this has a direct impact on their professional work and livelihood.

NICA believes that the value and trajectory of any sport are shaped over time through collective effort and community support. We stand firm in supporting coaches and instructors in Tchoukball and across all sports, and encourage constructive, balanced dialogue that recognises their contributions.
