BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS

Not an easy task. Sounds cliche, but it is necessary to face any obstacles and challenges in life. We may find strength and comfort from family, friends or bigger communities. Some from the past experiences of trials and tribulations. Some rely on the strength from above, highest power. So in this sabbath, allocate special time to rest and recharge.

Tried to run some roads which I usually ride. Tougher than I expected. The terrains and weather were challenging especially at the midday. Glad I can clock 42K today. Will see if I can double it up in 2 weeks time.

You have to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you got, and remember what you had. Always forgive, but learn from your mistakes. Things can go wrong, and not ideal, but remember, the ride goes on.

IN A FAR FROM IDEAL CONDITION

The smile on my face doesn’t mean my life is perfect. It means I appreciate what I have and what God has blessed me with.

Kaliurang (Jawa: ꦏꦭꦶꦲꦸꦫꦁ, har. ‘sungai udang’) has been a special place in my heart since I was little. Literally translated as River of Prawn, I used to spend days for retreats or just weekend trips. Many trails runs, hikings and social meetings during my teens. But never in my mind, I would have been here for cycling, moreover an Everesting attempt.

It is not the medal that gives me feeling of accomplishment. Not moment when passing of finish line that overjoys me. But the constant battle between my body and mind in 4 more hours, that redefines how I appreciate life. The pains I must bear, that reminds me to respect, value and live my life appropriately.

I can fly only when God let me.

AMATEUR MISTAKE

In my third marathon, I still made an amateur mistake. Although I knew that I would have problem after KM 30, I still ran too fast at the first half. It caused fatigue in right quad and cramping in my right ribs. Even worse, there was no pain killer spray until KM 38.

Nevertheless, the result is 2 minutes faster than last year. So I am still far from my target to be Sub-4 marathoner. But, it is not bad at all.

Start thinking what I can do differently in the race.
Will see if am patient enough to execute.
