♟[International Chess Day 2024]♟

Members of SGChessHub@JurongSpring celebrated International Chess Day 2024 and had an engaging session with GM Kevin Goh, our IG Host, on 20th July 2024 followed by an impromptu mini-rapid chess games facilitated by IGL NM/NA Franz Grafil.

It is also FIDE 100th Anniversary, a prominent milestone, signifying how far competitive chess has evolved over the past century. GM Kevin Goh referenced his National Championship 2023 game in his lecture on "Basic Calculation and Visualization Skill" with practical applications.

We look forward to gleaning more bite-size wisdoms from our IGLs in future sessions. Happy International Chess Day!!

SGChessHub would like to congratulate CM Ashwath Kaushik for scoring an impressive 38 points, emerging as the World Cup Chess Puzzle Solving U10 Champion! 🎉🎉

The award was presented by
GM David Gurgenidze, former World Champion of WCCI (World Championship in Composing for Individuals) 1998-2000 and international judge for studies.

We are proud of Ashwath and hope he continues breaking records towards his goal of becoming a Grandmaster! All the Best!👏

Congrats to our IGL, GM Tin Jingyao for finishing joint - First (2nd on tiebreak) with 7.5/9pts during the Teplice Open 2024!

With a remarkable performance and astoundingly high TPR of 2671, he is well on his way to crossing the 2600 goal.

We hope to see many more amazing results moving forward from our Singapore rising star! Kudos!🔥

Congrats to our IGL FM Goh Zi Han for flying our Singapore flag high as the best Singapore player at the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2024@Kazakhstan (9-21 June 2024) in the classical chess Under-16 category.

Zi Han displayed a strong showing, going unbeaten in all 9 rounds against strong opposition, finishing joint-2nd (6th on tiebreak) with an impressive performance of 6.5/9pts!
Well done!!

Huge congratulations to Singapore for winning the 2024 World Chess Championship bid!

Yesterday, in the Singapore Inter-Clubs Youth Chess Challenge 2024, the team consisting of Li Sirui, Koh Yu Long, Advika Vinai, Paolo Kelmendi, Asher Wee and led by Gordon Li competed. They achieved 1st Runner-up overall and the Best CC Team in 7 rounds of play. Huge congratulations to them!

We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to our now GM Siddharth Jagadeesh!
He clinched his final GM norm in the Sharjah Masters event in the UAE by beating super grandmaster and World no 34 Andrey Esipenko.

Congratulations to Singapore's 5th grandmaster and his family!

Many thanks to the Singapore Chess Federation and the SGChessHub@JurongSpring IGLs and speakers/panelists- GM Kevin Goh, WGM Gong Qianyun, GM Andrey Kvon and Ms Levyn Wong for hosting the “In Conversation with Chess Master - Building a Winning Mentality - A Champion's Mindset” forum on October 7th, 2023.

Attendees thoroughly enjoyed their time at the forum and took away invaluable insights and wise advice from each speakers.
