Congratulations to Bikes n Bites customer Mr N on his new Cervélo P-Series — built with Shimano Ultegra Di2 and a Reserve 57/64 wheel setup.

The wheel choice here is worth a mention: a 57mm front paired with a deeper 64mm rear is a common setup for serious triathletes and TT racers, because it balances aero gain against crosswind stability — the front wheel is the one that fights you in gusty conditions, so keeping it shallower while running deep in the back gives you speed without sacrificing control at speed.

Combined with Di2's electronic shifting — consistent, precise shifts even deep into a race when your hands and legs are both fatigued — this is a build made for someone who's serious about race day, not just weekend miles.

As Singapore's sole authorised Cervélo distributor, we're proud to help customers like Mr N build exactly the bike their racing demands.

Meet the bike behind the podium. 🥉
The Cervélo Soloist - the aero road bike Ms D rode to 3rd in her age group at Powerman Malaysia this weekend.
Built for exactly this: non-drafting formats, where every watt you don’t spend fighting the wind is a watt you get to spend on the run. Aero tube shaping, a stable ride quality, and enough stiffness to hold power when the race is on the line.
Singapore’s only authorised Cervélo distributor - this one’s in-store now.

Huge congratulations to Bikes n Bites customer Ms D, who placed 3rd in her age group (Classic 35-39) at Powerman Malaysia 2026 — the world's biggest duathlon.
She raced it on the Cervélo Soloist, a bike designed to do double duty: aero enough to hold pace on an open bike leg, stable enough to stay composed after a hard run split. It's the kind of all-rounder that rewards a rider who's dialled in their position and trusts their equipment on race day — which is exactly what a podium finish looks like.
As Singapore's sole authorised Cervélo distributor, we're proud to see our customers taking exclusive gear and turning it into real race results.
Well done, Ms D — from all of us at Bikes n Bites. 🏆

The bike choice matters. So does what you put into the rider.

In our last post, we looked at why a triathlete might choose a Cervélo Soloist over a P-Series — versatility versus a bike built around aerodynamic efficiency.

But whichever bike you choose, there’s another question that can make an even bigger difference on race day:

How are you going to fuel it?

For Singapore’s shorter, fast-paced triathlons, there’s often no shortage of intensity. The temptation is to push hard from the start and worry about nutrition later.

That’s usually the wrong approach.

Fuel before you feel you need it.

The bike leg is your best opportunity to take in carbohydrates and fluids because you’re able to eat and drink more comfortably than when running. Amacx recommends starting early and maintaining a consistent intake rather than trying to make up for a deficit later.

The Amacx Energy Line makes this relatively simple: each product provides around 30g of carbohydrate, allowing you to build your fuelling strategy around 30g increments. Their Drink Gels also provide 30g of carbohydrate and 200mg of sodium in a ready-to-drink format.

And for athletes training their gut to handle higher carbohydrate intake, the Turbo Line provides 40g per product and is designed to build towards higher hourly intakes.

The important part?

Don’t experiment on race day.

Your nutrition strategy should be tested during training — including what you take, when you take it, and what your stomach can comfortably handle.

Because whether you’re riding a Soloist or a P-Series, the goal is the same:

Get off the bike with enough energy left to run well.

Ride hard. Fuel smart. Finish strong.

Soloist or P-Series?

Two Cervélos. Two very different approaches to the triathlon bike leg.

For Singapore’s typically short, relatively fast triathlon courses, the choice isn’t always as obvious as “triathlon = P-Series.”

The Soloist makes sense for the athlete who wants one bike that does everything.

It is light, responsive and aerodynamic, with a conventional road-bike cockpit that makes it particularly versatile. For a shorter course, where the bike leg is fast, technical and over relatively quickly, some riders value the Soloist’s familiar handling, acceleration and versatility - especially if the same bike will also be used for group rides, training and road racing.

The P-Series is a different philosophy.

It is designed around one objective: being fast between T1 and T2. The aero position, dedicated triathlon cockpit, aerodynamic frame design and integrated storage are all designed to reduce drag and keep the rider efficiently positioned for the bike leg.

And on a short course, that aerodynamic advantage doesn’t suddenly disappear. In fact, when speeds are high, aerodynamic drag remains a significant part of the equation.

So the real question isn’t:

“Which bike is better?”

It is:

“What do you want your bike to do?”

Soloist: One bike. Maximum versatility. Familiar road-bike feel.

P-Series: One mission. Maximum aerodynamic efficiency from T1 to T2.

Different bikes. Different priorities.

Same objective: arrive at T2 with more speed left for the run.

Come visit us and we’ll help you work out which approach makes sense for the way you race.

First triathlon. First finish. One very proud cyclist.

A huge congratulations to Mr P on completing his very first triathlon.

Three disciplines. One finish line. Plenty of preparation, commitment and probably a few moments of wondering why he signed up in the first place.

And for the bike leg: his Cervélo Soloist, equipped with Ultegra Di2 and Reserve 42|49 wheels.

But today, it’s not about the bike.

It’s about the achievement.

Well done, Mr P. You’re officially a triathlete.

ROAD BIKE. GRAVEL BIKE. OR BOTH?

Where does the road end?

For some riders, that’s where the fun begins.

The Cervélo Áspero-5 was built for exactly that kind of riding.

Fast on the road. Ready for gravel.
One bike. No compromise.

Would you ride it on both?

HOW FAST DO YOU REALLY NEED TO GO?

The better question might be:

How fast do you want to go?

Cervélo S5. Built for riders who aren’t particularly interested in slowing down.

Would you choose the S5?
