Boulder Planet Singapore Boulder Planet - Nothing Out Of Reach

Wafiy came into the Malaysia Edition without much intention. He left as the Overall Winner. So naturally, he’s decided to try something different in Singapore: maybe have an intention this time💡✨

The freelance setter from KL tends to figure things out as he goes. Give him one big hold or an anchor to start from, and he’ll build around it from there, usually leaning towards climbing that’s simpler, more delicate and less about big dynamic moves.

Having previously been a head setter, he’s also spent plenty of time balancing the wild ideas with what actually needs to work. But give him enough time on the wall and, by his own admission, things can still get a little crazy 🤪

Now, after taking the title in Malaysia, he’s here for the Pro Edition with something else to prove: Malaysia also got standard lah🔥

His boulders are up at Boulder Planet Sembawang. Come see what the Malaysia Edition winner brought across the Causeway 🇲🇾

Osca has set a boulder inspired by a lobster before 🦞 So we know that ideas can come from pretty much anywhere. But whatever the starting point, Osca wants you to enjoy his boulders. He just doesn’t necessarily want you to send them straight away.

For the Portside Boulders setter, watching someone struggle, learn, and eventually figure it out is part of what makes climbing good. The goal isn’t to annoy you, but giving you something to work out? Absolutely.

And climbers still surprise him, especially with their ability to somehow fit themselves into spaces much smaller than he planned for 🤯

For Setters’ Showdown, Osca hopes you’ll remember something a little outdoorsy, something that makes you feel strong, and most importantly, something you enjoyed climbing. His boulders are up now at Boulder Planet Sembawang. Come get on the wall, and see what Osca brought from Perth 🇦🇺

When is a boulder finished being set? When all the screws are in.
What’s he bringing to Setters’ Showdown? His impact driver.
Alex, straight to the point 🎯

As for how he thinks about setting: making something hard is one thing; making something good is the real challenge. Sometimes Alex starts with a movement in mind. Other times, he lets the holds give him the idea. And does it always end up working the way he imagined? Not necessarily. The wall and holds gets a say too.

Ask him how much of setting is creativity and how much is problem-solving, and his answer is: it depends on the setter. And actually… fair point. There’s a lot packed into that “it depends” because if you give two setters the same wall and the same holds, there’s a pretty good chance they’ll see two completely different boulders after all 💭

Well, Alex brought his impact, all the screws are in, and his boulders are now up at Boulder Planet Sembawang. All that’s left is for you to climb them!

How’s the Pro set treating you? 👀 Our Setters’ Showdown 2026 Pro line-up came together at Boulder Planet Sembawang on 18 Sep, each bringing their own ideas, style and approach to the wall. Since then, you’ve been climbing what they left behind.

Some of them, you already know exactly who to blame 😂 The Setters’ Choice boulders on Orion have the setters’ names out in the open, each working within a theme and putting their interpretation of it on the wall. But the People’s Choice boulders on Event Horizon are a different story. 7 setters, 7 showcase boulders, and no names attached. You get the climb, nothing else. Who made your favourite stays a secret until the results are revealed 🤫

And it all comes to a head on Setter Day, 26 Sep.
You have until 6 PM to climb, pick your favourite and cast your People’s Choice vote. Then at 7 PM, we reveal the setters behind the boulders and crown our Setters’ Showdown 2026 Pro winners. Stick around after as we’re celebrating over pizza 🍕

And while Setter Day marks the end of the competition, there’s one more reason this set is special. These are the last boulders that will ever live on the Event Horizon you know today. As part of our upcoming BP Sembawang refurbishment, we’re completely rebuilding Event Horizon, and this version of the wall will be gone for good.

The set stays up for one final day on 27 Sep, giving you one last chance to climb it and say goodbye to Event Horizon.
But if you want to vote, see who wins, and finally find out who set what:
26 Sep. Setter Day. See you there 👋

Paul wants you to reach your full potential. He might just make you high-step your way there 😂

As Chief Setter of BFF, Paul describes his setting personality as “cute and funny”, but there’s more behind the playfulness. He enjoys setting easier boulders, loves setting for climbers who are willing to keep trying, and believes route setters ultimately want to help you discover what you’re capable of.

As for the “cute and funny” part? He’s brought that personality into his Setters’ Showdown routes 🧸 The Pro set is now up at Boulder Planet Sembawang, so come find out for yourself what that looks like on the wall!

Overhang or slab? Both. Outdoor or indoor? Both. Music or no music? Also both 😂 John Veloria, aka Puss, might refuse to pick sides, but there are a few things he’s much more certain about: pinches, toe hooks, three-dimensional movement, and boulders that demand more than just pulling hard.

His climbing story started outdoors in the Philippines after a friend nicknamed Shrek introduced him to the sport, which, naturally, eventually led to everyone calling him Puss 🐈

More than a decade later, those outdoor roots still show up in his setting. And when asked what piece of himself he wants to leave behind at Setters’ Showdown, that’s exactly where he went: the style of climbing that he grew up on back home 🇵🇭

Alief has opinions. Quite a few of them 👀 But behind the hot takes is a pretty clear philosophy on setting: the boulder isn’t for the setter, it’s for the climber.

For Alief, good setting should do more than look good or feel clever. It should give climbers something to figure out, something to learn from, and maybe even expose a weakness they didn’t know they had. And if you find a completely different way through what he created? Even better 🔥

Come 18 Sep, we’ll find out what that philosophy looks like on the wall at the Setters’ Showdown 2026 Pro Edition.

While you’re still climbing and voting on the Emergent set, let’s look ahead to what’s next 👀 Introducing our setters for the Setters’ Showdown 2026 Pro Edition 🔩

This is a line-up backed by years of route setting experience and setters who have honed their craft across gyms, competitions and climbing communities based across Singapore, the Philippines and Australia 🇸🇬🇵🇭🇦🇺 and on 18 Sep, they’ll come together at Boulder Planet, bringing all of that experience to the wall and each putting their own ideas and movement into the boulders they create.

And this isn’t the full line-up yet. Joining them will be the Overall Winner of the Malaysia Edition 🇲🇾 plus one more setter who is still to be decided: the Overall Winner of the Emergent Edition.

Emergent voting is still open until 13 Sep, so keep climbing, keep voting and help decide who earns that final place in the Pro line-up 🗳️

Then from 18–26 Sep, the Pro set is yours to climb, and yours to vote on for People’s Choice.

The Pro stage is almost set! 🧨
