Mountain Biking - One of the most adventurous sports!🚵‍♂️🚲🌄
These days mountain bikes come in shapes, styles, and budgets to suit everyone. At the top end, they are more expensive than cars, and at the bottom end cheaper than a big night out.
In simple words, the bike is a truly incredible feat of engineering. They’re good for your health, cost nothing to power, and have a low impact on the environment.

Did you know? In 1886 the US Army was the first to use off-road bicycles to replace horses. Bicycles had big advantages compared to horses as they did not get ill, need feeding, or die in battle. Furthermore, they were relatively inexpensive compared to horses. These bikes were made with a typical rigid frame and forks, their simplicity made them incredibly reliable and was popular with the troops of the day.

The culture of cycling has always been an important mark in , but then again, it's true that due to Covid-19, the acceleration of this sport has tremendously impacted in the country.

It is true that mountain biking is not a sport for everyone as it can cause some severe injuries if not performed well, but then again, it’s also proven that “practice makes perfect” A quote that our rider believes in, Rodolfo Macrohon who initiated his path in the world of mountain biking 10 years ago, He started riding with a group of friends who he met while buying his 1st mountain bike and ever since then his group of friends & him “The Freeriders Unleashed” have been accomplishing achievements on difficult terrains in Singapore & SEA.
Rodolpho has achieved several medals & trophies along his path in local & overseas competitions.

Want to know about mind-blowing hidden terrains in 🇸🇬…?

And therefore in this week’s episode, we will be interviewing the Founder of Proactiv Sports, Will Murray who strongly believes that sports play a major role in the overall development of children into , and adults.
Proactiv was initially founded in Hong Kong in 2011 following up with the expansion in Singapore in 2014 and just before the pandemic, they managed to launch another academy in Malaysia, with the main idea of building a one stop sports solution for kids and adults and to make your sports experience as convenient for you as possible.

In they do not believe in making the sports a competition but instead to make sure that the child has experienced enjoyment, participation and being a good sportsman at the end of a session.

Tennis - The sport of the pandemic! 🎾👟
A racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles).

Did you know? The game was first created by European monks for entertainment roles during ceremonial occasions. The History of the tennis game was developed from a 12th-century French handball game called “Jeu de Paume”. The game consisted to struck the ball with the hand.
At first, the ball was hit with hands. Later, the leather glove came into existence. This leather glove was replaced with an adaptive handle for effective hitting and serving of the ball = birth of the tennis racquet.🎾

The sport developed its mark in Singapore 🇸🇬
In 1989 the first ever tennis tournament was hosted by the Singapore Open, a defunct Grand Prix and ATP Tour affiliated tennis tournament. Also known as the Epson Singapore Super Tennis tournaments that lasted until 1992. Later on, from 1996 to 1999 it was known as the Heineken open.

After a long-awaited 22 years, Singapore rose up again with Shaheed Alam, who initiated his path in tennis at the age of 5 by playing with his Dad under the void deck with a hand-crafted net, 2 rackets, and 1 ball. Shaheed has been supported throughout his early age to pursue his goals in tennis by his family. He has been achieving several medals & trophies in local tournaments, and he holds the record of being the 1st Singaporean male to win an ITF junior singles title in 2015.

Early in the year, Shaheed Alam marked his debut at an ATP Pro Men's Tour event - the Singapore Tennis Open and currently holds the #1 rank, as our nation’s male player
Want to know how was his experience during the tournament…?

Boxing is a combat sport that involves fighting with fists. 🥊💥🥊
Traditionally, boxing has also been referred to as *pugilism,* which literally means, “fistfight.” Fights take place in an area called a “ring,” and consist of timed rounds

Did you know? Boxing got initiated and became popular in ancient Rome, especially as a spectator sport between gladiators. Over time, the leather wrapping used to protect the fighter’s hands was replaced by studded metal gloves. Unfortunately, this usually resulted in death for one of the fighters.

The sport developed its mark in Singapore 🇸🇬
From 1819 to 1959 when Singapore was under the British colonial era. The British soldiers use the art of boxing as a training method and to a certain extent, they use it to perform it over the nation’s locals.
Boxing was only recognized in the 1920’s as a sport and after a decade - the national controlling body for the sport of amateur boxing in Singapore was founded in 1930, with an important VISION of building champions not only in boxing and inside the ring but also ultimately in life.

Hardy initiated his path in boxing after a series of life-changing moments that were occurring during his teenage. His path was not smooth at all, in fact he use to keep questioning himself why am I even doing this…
But thanks to the support of some inspirational athletes like Coach Syed Kadir , Hardy never looked back and ever since then he has been facing his problems inside and outside the ring with 🥊

Currently Hardy is working at as a Boxing coach!

💃Dance👯‍♂️
From the earliest moments of known human history, dance accompanied ancient rituals, spiritual gatherings, and social events. As a conduit of trance, spiritual force, pleasure, expression, performance, and interaction, dance became infused into our nature from the earliest moments of our existence.

Did you know? The oldest proof of the existence of dancing comes from the 9000 year old cave paintings that were found in India, which depicts various scenes of hunting, childbirth, religious rites, burials.

But this was also happening on the other side of the world, all the way in Latin America.

Elkin Bedoya Correa, who started dancing in the streets of Colombia and through a lot of difficulties managed to make his debut as a “Bailarin”🕺 known as, back-stage dancer for several local artists in Colombia itself.

His hard work paid off, 20 years ago when he was officially called to Indonesia to work at a Salsa club in Jakarta.
Ever since then he has been making an impact in the Latin American dance community throughout Asia and he has been developing his mark in Singapore since 6 years ago by entertaining all those Latin American beats lovers!
