As we approach the end of 2025 our last event of the year was a great reminder of why Padel is such a special sport.

We took great pleasure in hosting the Indonesia GMC Active tournament where Singaporean and Indonesian players shared their common passion for this sport. The functional pilates for Padel went splendidly too thanks to our sponsors SEA

Huge thanks to and their wonderful team for co-organising this social tournament and flying in their amazingly energetic players all in the name of friendly competition. We are still buzzing from this memorable weekend that serves to remind us of how amazing padel can be when players (from both sides!) bring so much spirit and joy to the court!

The experience was brought to life by
Special thanks to our sponsors SEA and for their support.

We eagerly look forward to the next one!

IMPROVE YOUR VOLLEY

Having trouble with your volleys lately?
If they keep flying long, hitting the glass, or feeling unstable — don’t blame your power.
There are many possible causes, but one small detail is often at the root of most net-play mistakes: your preparation.

Let’s break it down
How’s your setup?
Are you taking your racket too far back… or keeping it compact and ready? 🤔

⚡️ The golden rule: keep it short.

A compact preparation gives you a speed reaction, control, and balance in fast exchanges at the net.
The goal here isn’t to hit hard — it’s to stay stable and precise under pressure.

Remember: at the net, everything happens fast.
You don’t have time for long swings or big arm movements.

📍 Positioning matters

If you stand too close to the net, you lose reaction time.
Give yourself enough space to identify whether you’re hitting a defensive, neutral, or attacking volley.
That split-second difference changes everything.

👀 Anticipation is key

Reading the ball early lets you prepare smarter, not bigger.
In defensive volleys especially, biomechanics aren’t about amplitude — they’re about efficiency:
control, precision, stability, and economy of motion.

💪🏼 Why a short preparation works

1. You reach the ball earlier → more reaction time.
2. You keep your stroke compact → more consistency and control.
3. You avoid over-rotation → cleaner technique.
4. You reduce errors from unnecessary motion → higher stability.
5. You adapt faster to different speeds and directions → better reading of the play.

🎯 Remember

In basic and defensive volleys, less is more.
Simple, firm, and quick movements give you more time, better control, and confidence.
You’re not trying to win the point — just to keep it alive and stay in control.

And most important, always always be ready!

And you? 😏

🎾 Types of Padel Rackets 🎾

Round, Teardrop & Diamond

Choosing a padel racket can seem complicated, but understanding its shape makes it much easier.
Each type has a different design that affects where the sweet spot is, how the weight feels, and whether it prioritizes control or power.

⚪ Round racket – Control & Comfort

The sweet spot is large and centered, making it easier to hit clean shots even if you don’t strike the ball perfectly.

⚖️ The weight is usually balanced or closer to the handle, so it feels light and easy to handle.
💡 Ideal for beginners or players who want precision, control, and fewer mistakes.
🚫 The downside: it offers less power on strong shots.

💧 Teardrop racket – Balance between Control & Power

The sweet spot is slightly higher than in round rackets, combining control with good ball output.

⚖️ The weight is more evenly distributed, which is why it’s known as the “all-round” shape.
💡 Perfect if you already have some experience and want a versatile racket that gives you power without losing control.
🚫 It doesn’t stand out 100% in either control or power, but it’s very well balanced.

🔷 Diamond racket – Power & Aggressiveness

The sweet spot is smaller and located toward the top, which requires precise hitting.

⚖️ The weight leans more toward the head, generating extra power on smashes.
💡 Ideal for players with good technique or a more offensive style.
🚫 Less maneuverable and more demanding — if you miss the center, you’ll feel it right away.

🧩 In summary

🔹 Round → more control
🔹 Teardrop → balance
🔹 Diamond → more power

💬 “Remember: balance (where the weight is concentrated) and sweet spot (the area where the racket performs best) are the two key factors that define the feel of each shape.”

💬 Final tip:

These differences are just a reference, also depends on the materials (carbon, fiberglass, foam type, weight, etc.).
The best way to choose is to try different rackets and see which one fits your level and playing style ✌🏼

And you? What’s your favorite racket shape?
