What about The Clarets....

We found the name Aston Athletic in the archives of Singapore Amateur football league in 1932!!!

Henceforth, we took up the name, rejuvenate & recreate to form Aston Athletic FC. We wanted to stay true to a Singapore identity & to re-create a legacy of a legendary team.

Here in Aston Athletic, we are amazed by the work of club founders. Just look at the history of professional football clubs in England.
Most clubs were formed during the 18th century, but its their legacy & ambition that spread out wide to the Asian region despite we in the East are so far away from their community & district. The clubs were formed & assembled by a small humble community that share the same interest, playing football as a community.
Therefore, inspired & amazed, we wanted to copy their success & created one for ourselves in Singapore that involves a truly grassroot football community football club, but not a team.

The Claret colour? Well, we wanted to have that traditional royalty look, just wanted to look different from the rest of the teams here in Singapore.

A grassroot football community?

Here in Aston Athletic, the idea & objective is to re-create & share the lifetime experience to the younger generations about the 90s footballing vibes whereby majority of football players in Singapore started playing football on a grassroot level.
Grassroot to us means, down under the void decks of our HDB flat or at an open field nearby our neighbourhood. Our humble beginning & introduction brought us success being selected for a school team successfully scouted by pro football clubs later on to join their COE programs. We had so much footballing activities during the 90s, MILO Team, SNICKER CUP in Sentosa, NSSL, PUMA STREET SOCCER tournament & many more!

And we had a successful national team back then, from those born during the 80s, grew up in the 90s & brought success in the early 2000.

But how did we go about having a successful football scene back then?

Simply from the early humble beginning of playing football as a community on a grassroot level playing under the voids decks or bawah blok. The Kampong bawah blok football spirit!!

Here in Aston Athletic, we are not in interested to form a weekend football team, neither start up an academy nor raising tamed footballers, we're here to bring back the spirit of kampong & community under the void decks footballing experience to the newer & younger generations by forming a grassroot football community that enable us to play, learn, train & grow together!

We're here to re-create that scene & we ensure to keep it affordably cheap & convenient for everyone to join us to re-create the community spirit legacy.

What matters most to us is friends, families & football!!

And we might never know, we could raise raw gems that could end up representing the national team.
