If you have certification to OHSAS 18001 you will need to migrate to ISO 45001 to maintain the validity of the certification before 12 March 2021

The key principles of the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act are to reduce risks at source, increase industry stakeholders' ownership and focus on achieving good WSH outcomes and systems rather than complying with prescriptive requirements.
bizSAFE is a five-step programme to assist companiesbuild up their WSH capabilities in order to achieve quantum improvements in safety and health standards at the workplace. Contractors registered under ME01, ME02, ME05, ME06, ME11, ME12, MW02, MW03 and MW04 with grades L6 to L2 must obtain the Safety Management Certification (SMC) or OHSAS18000 by the following dates:
a) L6 and L5 contractors by 1 Jul 2013
b) L4 and L3 contractors by 1 Jul 2015
c) L2 contractors by 1 Jul 2016
SMC is a safety management system similar to OHSAS 18001 but in a simplified form suitable for the scale and operations of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It allows SMEs to implement a simple and affordable but yet effective safety management system to improve site safety. This is part of the government's efforts to ensure a safe environment for workers and members of the public.
Companies can email a valid SMC or OHSAS18000 to [email protected] from 1 Jan 2013 onwards. Please note that your firm may be downgraded to L1 if you fail to obtain the valid SMC or OHSAS18000 by the above implementation dates for L6-L2 contractors.
