🇸🇬 That’s a wrap on Glasgow 2026!

Our athletes took on the Commonwealth Games stage, competing across the sprints, middle-distance, jumps and relays. They return with season bests, valuable major Games experience and a historic breakthroughs for Singapore.

Shanti Pereira made history in the women’s 200m, clocking a season best 22.81s in the semis to become the first Singaporean sprinter to qualify for an individual Commonwealth Games final, where she finished eighth.

She also started her campaign strong in the women’s 100m, winning her heat in a season best 11.24s and progressing to the semi-finals as the third-fastest qualifier.

More strong performances followed across the team 🔥 :

Marc Brian Louis: Season bests of 10.38s in the men’s 100m and 20.97s in the men’s 200m

Gabriel Lee: Season best 15.97m and 7th place in the men’s triple jump final

Kampton Kam: 2.05m and 8th place in the men’s high jump final

Low Jun Yu: 4.90m and 10th place in the men’s pole vault final

Elizabeth-Ann Tan, Kerstin Ong, Shanti Pereira and Amanda Loo: Season best 45.52s in the women’s 4x100m relay, finishing 9th overall and narrowly missing out on the final

Glasgow was also a special milestone for Harry Curran and Amanda Loo, who made their Commonwealth Games debuts.

Thiruben Thana Rajan became the first Singaporean to compete in the men’s 800m at the Commonwealth Games.

Every race, jump and major Games experience adds another layer to the journey as our athletes continue building towards the next challenge, the Asian Games. 💪

🇸🇬 NEW U20 NATIONAL RECORD!

Daryen Ko delivered a great performance on the world stage, clocking 52.72s in the Men’s 400m Hurdles at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon! 🔥

His time sets a new Singapore U20 National Record, marking another major milestone in his young career.

While Daryen’s campaign ends in the heats, he leaves the championships with an NR and a performance to be proud of.

🇸🇬 RISING HIGHER!

Ashlee Ong Yuxi soared to new heights at Pesta Sukan 2026, clearing 3.70m to set new Singapore U23 and U20 Women’s Pole Vault National Records! 🏆

Coached by David Yeo, Ashlee cleared 3.48m before successfully navigating 3.70m on her third attempt.

She then raised the bar to 3.92m, the senior national record height and came agonisingly close to clearing it.

This marks the fourth time Ashlee has improved the U23 and U20 records in 2026:

3.61m - SA All Comers Meet 3
3.62m - 86th Singapore Championships
3.65m - National Pole Vault Series 1, Selangor
3.70m - Pesta Sukan 2026

Currently ranked No. 1 in Southeast Asia at U20 level and joint No. 15 in Asia, she continues to raise the bar for Singapore athletics.🔥

🇸🇬 A spirited finish to the weekend for Singapore Athletics at the Commonwealth Games! 🔥

The women's 4×100m relay team of Amanda Loo, Elizabeth Tan, Kerstin Ong and Shanti Pereira closed out their season in style, clocking 45.52s – their fastest time of the year. The quartet finished 9th out of 12 overall.

The men's 4×100m relay team of Tate Tan Fung, Xander Ho Ann Heng, Gan Yu An Ian and Marc Brian Louis crossed the line in 40.07s, placing fifth in their heat against a strong Commonwealth field.

In the men's pole vault, Low Jun Yu cleared 4.90m to finish 10th overall, capping off his campaign with another valuable performance on the international stage.

Finally, Gabriel Lee produced a season's best leap of 15.97m 🎉 in the men's triple jump final, finishing 7th out of 12 athletes to round off Singapore's campaign with a strong performance.

🇸🇬 SHANTI PEREIRA IS THROUGH TO THE 200M FINAL! 🔥

After progressing from the heats in 23.00s, Shanti raised the bar in the semi-finals, clocking a season’s best 22.81s to secure her place in the Women’s 200m Final.

In the process, Shanti has become the first Singapore sprinter to qualify for a Commonwealth Games individual sprint final. 👏🇸🇬

One race remains. Shanti takes on the best in the event on 1 Aug at 4:46am (SGT).

Gabriel Lee has qualified for the Men’s Triple Jump Final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games!

Gabriel recorded a best leap of 15.32m (+3.0 m/s) in the qualification round, finishing 12th in his qualification group to secure his place in the final.

He returns to the runway on 1 August at 5:10 PM (Singapore)! 💪🇸🇬
