“Hi, my name is Joel , a 45-year-old Zumba instructor from Queens, New York, with a heart of gold and a story that’ll move you to tears. Born in the Philippines, I took my basic 1 training in 2016. My journey took an unexpected turn when i was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer in 2018. Zumba wasn’t just a workout for me—it was my lifeline, my therapy, my reason to smile through the pain. Now, with over 8 years of teaching experience under this belt, I believe i am on a mission to inspire others with my infectious energy and unwavering spirit. I am not just a survivor; I am a warrior, a beacon of hope, and possibly the next rising star in the Zumba world.
