Class of 2025 Graduation day
From the sweaty, high-energy, hyper teenagers that came onto the mats; to the poised, refined and mature young adults graduating today.
It fills us with pride to have seen you all grow and graduate and also remember us in your journey.
Physical pursuits (i.e. MMA and other sports) and academic pursuits are both constrasting and complementary aspects of how we grow and find our professional purpose in life.
Wishing all the graduation cohort of 2025 from SP MMA a great future ahead and you know we will continue to see each other on the mats and keep the grind to sharper each other!

It was a tight group that met over the weekend for G**o U-Wayes seminar.
The constant movement, brutal weather left us little time for photos.
But we all got a chance to revisit and delve deeper into the Doce Methodos from Pekiti Tirsia Kali.
We did not engage in any complicated techniques or drills; but G**o U-Waye constantly challenged us to show our understanding of range and timing through our movement and striking--- by reducing these concepts to fundamental actions, we could see the areas where we needed to work on in motion, in striking and in perception.
And yes, he left us with a little suprise too :P
So do look out for upcoming PTK SMF programs in the near future!

Priviledged to work with the Singapore Judo Federation as a Coach Educator for their SG-Coach Level 1 Coaching Course.
Over the 2 weekends, we explored how the Game For Life model seeks to infuse the teaching of values alongside technical skills. Coaches developed best practices and approaches to design session plans that would bring about the desired behaviour and competencies through role-play, discussions and micro-coaching sessions.
One of the key challenges was for participants to take a look at how they could go deeper into exploring the value of 'RESPECT' in a well-structured Judo session.
Beyond the etiquette of bowing and formality, participants challenged themselves to see how they could Check-Act-Reinforce behaviours that showed respect for rules, for their training partner, for being faithful to the role of Tori/Uke and how this would lead to better technical ex*****on and ultimately better performance on the mat.
To all our aspiring coaches, May all your throws be effortless, may all your submissions be tight and may all your Ippons be uncontested!!!

Fundamentals of Mixed Martial Arts for Building Resiliency in Youths
Glad to work with our mainstream Primary schools under the Sports Excellence Program (SEP) to bring in martial arts programs to build resiliency and socio-emotional competencies our kids.
Focus, ability to follow instructions, working well with our partners... these are all skills that allow high performance athletes to flourish in the arena but they are equally important for all of us as we navigate life and grow up to become well-adjusted individuals and active contributors to our society!
