Wu Kwon Taekwondo Championship 2026 – Johor Bahru, Malaysia 🇲🇾🥋
A short trip across the border to Johor Bahru with a small team — but everyone stepped onto the competition floor determined to give their very best.
Across Poomsae, Kyorugi, and Virtual Taekwondo, our athletes competed with courage, supported one another, and gained valuable competition experience throughout the weekend. 💪
In Poomsae, our team achieved:
🏆 6–8 years — 1st Runner-Up
🏆 9–11 years — 1st Runner-Up
🏆 15–17 years — 1st Runner-Up
🏆 18–30 years — 2nd Runner-Up
These performances, combined with the achievements of our other medalists across the various age groups, earned Team J H Kim Overall 2nd Runner-Up for Poomsae across the championship. 🏆
Our Virtual Taekwondo athletes also put together a strong team performance:
🏆 12–14 years — Overall Champion
🏆 15–17 years — 2nd Runner-Up
🏆 18+ years — 2nd Runner-Up
Our two Kyorugi athletes also fought well, bringing home one Gold and one Silver medal. 🥇🥈 More importantly, both stepped onto the competition floor, gave their best, and gained valuable experience to take into their next fight.
Small in numbers, but a strong collective effort from everyone who made the journey. Congratulations to all our athletes, and thank you to our coaches, staff, parents, supporters, organisers, referees, and volunteers for another memorable competition experience.

Our Poomsae athlete Dylan Lim represented Singapore at the 9th Heroes Taekwondo International Championships, held from 31 July to 2 August 2026 in Pattaya City, Thailand. 🇸🇬🇹🇭
Competing in both Individual Poomsae and Pair Poomsae, Dylan put up admirable performances on the international stage, winning a Gold Medal in Pair Poomsae. 🥇
Adding to the achievement, Dylan and his partner were also recognised as the Overall Best Pair of the championships! 🏆🌟

Dear Parents and Students,
With our quarterly grading now concluded, I would first like to congratulate all students on their hard work and perseverance. Every grading marks another milestone in each student’s martial arts journey.
This grading also marks an unfortunate milestone. It will be the last grading conducted at our Holland School, as we will be closing the school upon the completion of our current tenancy at the end of September.
Many of you will remember that our original headquarters was at The Grandstand (the former Turf City) until the end of 2023. To continue serving our students, we established two locations: Binjai Park and Pandan Valley.
While Holland School has given us many wonderful memories, it was clear from the beginning that the school would face challenges sustaining itself as a standalone location. Student numbers have remained below what is needed to support operating costs, while manpower challenges have continued. Rather than closing earlier, we chose to honour our tenancy agreement and serve our students until its natural conclusion.
I have always believed that we are one school and one team, regardless of how many physical locations we operate. That belief remains unchanged. I warmly invite all Holland students to continue their martial arts journey at our Bukit Timah or Toh Tuck schools. The same values, curriculum, instructors, and community are there to support you.
As we close this chapter, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported Holland School. Seneca once wrote, “Life, if well lived, is long enough.” Our time at Holland may have been short, but the memories and experiences we shared will always remain.
Looking ahead, 2027 marks the 20th anniversary of our headquarters, and we are already planning several initiatives to celebrate this milestone. Let us continue this journey together as one school and one team.

As part of GETActive! Singapore Pesta Sukan 2026, athletes from across Singapore came together to compete in Poomsae, Kyorugi, and Virtual Taekwondo, celebrating sport, community, and the spirit of competition. 🔥
We are also proud to support our students from St. Joseph’s Institution (SJI) and Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) in the Poomsae events. Held on weekday evenings instead of weekends, the competition presented an added challenge as our Poomsae athletes balanced school, work, training, and competition — yet continued to give their very best on the competition floor. 💪
Our Kyorugi athletes were involved in many exciting matches throughout the competition. While we celebrated several gold medal performances, what mattered most was the courage to step onto the competition floor and give their very best. Some athletes achieved personal bests, while others gained valuable lessons to build upon. Every competition is another step in the journey, and we look forward to seeing our athletes continue to grow. 🥊
Beyond competing and winning medals, our students once again played an important role in supporting the Virtual Taekwondo competition, helping to manage the competition court and ensuring the event ran smoothly. At J H Kim Taekwondo Institute, we believe Taekwondo is not just about competing, but also about serving others and giving back to the community. 🙏

The Han Foundation Youth Taekwondo Championships 2026 — our first competition in Singapore for the year! 🥋🔥
This championship provided a meaningful platform for our youth and young children to compete, learn, and grow, featuring Poomsae, Virtual Taekwondo, and non-head contact Kyorugi as part of a progressive pathway towards the National School Games and beyond. 💪
