SJC at Geylang West National Day Carnival 2026

Last weekend, SJC was proud to take to the stage at the Geylang West National Day Carnival, performing at our new home base at Geylang West CC!

We were delighted to showcase three groups representing different parts of our judo community — our Special Olympics Singapore judokas, our junior judokas, and a very special family showcase featuring a father and his three young judokas.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share judo with the wider Geylang West community and to showcase how the sport can bring together people of different ages and abilities.

It was also a pleasure to meet Minister Josephine Teo during the celebrations.

Our special thanks once again to Geylang West CC Chairman Mr Wan for his continued support and for welcoming SJC into our new home.

We look forward to becoming an active part of the Geylang West community and sharing the spirit of judo with many more families in the years ahead!

Pesta Sukan 2026 Results & Black Belt Promotions

A memorable day for our club earlier this month, with two milestones to celebrate!

First, congratulations to our members who competed at the Pesta Sukan Championships, bringing home medals across the U11, Cadet, Junior and Team events.

- U11 GOLD -37kg: Yu Feng
- CADET SILVER -81kg: Samuel
- JUNIOR GOLD -90kg: Luke
- TEAM BRONZE: Shaharis, Brandon, Luke, Samuel, Ivan & Andras

Congratulations as well to Coach Azfar on winning Gold in the individual -81kg category.

On the same day, we were also proud to hold a Black Belt Promotion Ceremony for Shaharis, Luke and Evan!

Achieving a black belt is an important milestone that reflects years of training, perseverance and commitment to judo. Congratulations to all three on this well-earned achievement!

A great day of competition, progress and celebration for the club. Well done to everyone!

Singapore Judo Club Is Moving to Our New Dojo! (WEF 2nd August 2026)

Today, we welcomed members to an Open House at our new home at Geylang West CC, where they had the opportunity to view our two new training spaces at Level 1 and Level 3.

We would like to thank the Geylang West Community Club Management Committee for its warm welcome and support, especially CCMC Chairman Mr. Wan Kwong Weng.

The move is necessary as Kim Seng Community Club will be undergoing major upgrading works over the next two years. We are grateful to have found a new home that will allow The Singapore Judo Club (Since 1954) to continue serving our members and community.

Training at Geylang West Community Club will commence on Sunday, 2 August 2026.

SJC will continue to conduct seven classes each week, including our Special Olympics Singapore Judo programme on Sunday mornings.

Congratulations to Yu Yang, Yu Feng, Cayden, and Nathan who took part in today’s Jagsport Invitational Championship!

Nathan and Yu Yang won silver, and Cayden won bronze. It was a great experience for all of them. 🥳

We were glad to host the Sabah SUKMA (Malaysia’s national multi-sport games) Judo Team last week for two joint training sessions at SJC.

We were honoured to welcome Sensei Jang (), a renowned international coach, former Korean national team member, and Adidas Judo Global Ambassador. With a global following of over 100K+, his influence in the judo community is undeniable.

During the masterclass, Sensei Jang generously shared his dynamic judo style and experience at the highest levels of the sport, giving our members valuable perspectives. An honour to learn from a true master.

Sharing the 4 part playlist from the masterclass by Sensei Low Chee Kiang (7th Dan) at the Singapore Judo The Singapore Judo Club (Since 1954) on 1st March 2026.

We were honoured to welcome Sensei Low back to the dojo following his retirement after 53 years in Judo. A long-time SJC member since the 1960s and one of Singapore’s most decorated Judokas, this was a rare opportunity for our members to learn from a true pioneer of the sport.

Beyond his achievements, Sensei Low generously shared his knowledge, technique, and philosophy with the club - making this session both meaningful and inspiring.

Last weekend, SJC members and friends came together to support the Singapore Cancer Society at Relay For Life race.

Proud to share that Team Hajimei and Team SJC each clocked over 100km on the track - every step a show of solidarity with cancer survivors, caregivers, and families.

Grateful for the energy, teamwork, and heart from everyone who took part. 💜
