Sprinting performance should be evaluated not only through speed output, but also through force production, joint angles, intermuscular coordination, and the mechanical efficiency of movement. Within this framework, sprint biomechanics requires an integrated understanding of the contribution of the gluteus maximus to propulsion, the role of the quadriceps in knee extension, the function of the hamstrings in both force generation and movement control, and the importance of core stabilization for effective force transfer.
In addition, trunk lean, knee and ankle angles, ground reaction force, and the phases of the stride cycle represent key biomechanical indicators in the evaluation of sprint technique.
Presenting these complex mechanical relationships within a clear yet scientific framework may provide valuable contributions to education, training design, and performance analysis in sports science.

It was an amazing day at the Singapore National Para-Athletics Championships 2026 at HOA. Thank you Singapore Disability Sports Council for organizing the championship.
This year MY COACHING ACADEMY (MCA) sent 3 athletes from the high-performance Visual Impaired (VI) and 3 athletes from Autism under open categories for the events. As one of my VI guide runners was down with fever, I took on the role as coach and guide-runner for one of the athletes. Very happy that I was still able to sprint fast with my VI athlete to clinch 2 silver medals for both 100m and 200m.
Having a structured training program, all MCA athletes made it to the podium through their hard work and dedication. Some first time participating while some creating new personal best (PB) for their events. Importantly, it’s not about medals 🥇 achieved, it’s about values and progression. I was very proud to see my athletes showing sportsmanship, resilience and determination to themselves and to other athletes. My usual advise to all MCA athletes both mainstream and para, “participation first, medal second” and “progression leads to performance”.
A big thank you to all MCA parents, guide-runners and admin volunteers for your continuous support and encouragement. Also, believing in MCA’s commitment to build an inclusive sports community and culture.
“MCA is a Family and we are one family”.
