Today, the team got a reminder from the harsh mistress called Gravity.
In practice, Dedy Johan took in the route, including the challenging 1 metre drop, and was all excited for the actual seeding run.
Unfortunately during the seeding run, a combination of fatigue and error in judgement caused a endo crash at drop.
Fortunately, he is in one piece but apparently suffering from some bruising and pain from his left shoulder, limiting movement on the left limb somewhat.
Despite all this, he is qualified and seeded to compete in the finals tomorrow, pending the outcome of his shoulder aches.

We are here!!!

Urban Wheels 16/09/2016

Hi everyone.
After what seemed a long hiatus due to both Eids and work commitments, the team is now ready to resume activities.
First up, the Urban Wheels 2016, the 2nd time this urban gravity downmall event is being held. Last year, Dedy Johan took part in the inaugural event held at the Sports Hub. Being his first actual gravity competition, he took part in the Rookie category, coming in 5th.
This year, banking on his experiences last year, he will be participating in the Master category. Held at *Scape in the heart of Orchard Toad, this year's event promises to be more exciting with a longer track starting at 5 stories high. It will happen tomorrow & Sunday (17th & 18th Sept)
More info will updated here.

We at Team Spartan powered by LEO TECH Services are deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of a fellow participant of the Mega Ride Special Edition jamboree who collapsed midway through the race. Our heartfelt condolences to the next-of-kin and immediate family.

Hi, everyone. Update from race. Dedy Johan managed to finish 719 out of 1051 safely. This was no mean feat as the terrain can be simply described as "a hilly mudfest" which basically meant increased rolling resistance and high instance of mechanical fault, which in this case was a chain-suck into the crank chainring. Adding in the monsoon season which resulted in an extremely hot and humid late morning.
Also, due to technical issues with one of the bus transporting the riders he joined with for the race category, there was insufficient riders to form the competitive team and thus, he was moved to the individual jamboree race.
But, all on all, a very successful and fruitful outing.

Hola, everyone.
As everyone may have known, Ramadhan is around the corner, along with the fasting month. As such, Team Spartan powered by LEO TECH Services will be toning down most of its sport activities. But before that happens, Dedy Johan will be participating in one final XC jamboree race: the Mega Ride Special Edition taking place in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru tomorrow (21st May 2016). As requested, he will be taking part in the 45km race category (as opposed to the 35km jamboree race). Stay tuned for updates...

Latest update:
Dedy Johan managed to safely finish the race. 1020 out of 1500 overall. The route was made complicated with uneven gravel tracks and 2 very steep hill-climbs. But, a complete finish and a major improvement in overall ranking vs the last race ended the day sweetly.

Hello, 2016. After a short hiatus, we're kicking this year off with a Jamboree race in Semarang, Malaysia on Saturday 2nd April. Team Spartan will be participating in this 40+km cross-country across the natural Malaysian countryside, a far cry from the gravity-oriented races the team has always took part in.
Last year, Dedy Johan managed to complete the full length of the King of Desaru XC challenge. So he's all stoked for this one. Stay tuned here for updates...
