Barker & Pooch is a social enterprise founded in 2019 with a mission to give dogs in Singapore a longer active life. We work closely with our clients to create canine fitness programs specifically for their fitness goals and health conditions.

We are looking for good energy - humble but aspiring, calm but assertive - someone who can tell us why they should be part of the team. Meet Kai! Kai started off as a Sports Science intern from Republic Polytechnic attached to Barker and Pooch. After completing her internship, Kai fell in love with training our canine athletes and hence joined the B&P family full time! Here's a little get to know you session with Kai!

1. What do you do in BP?
I do everything! But I am in charge of front of house, welcoming clients in and conducting gym sessions. I am also mainly the one communicating with you guys online😘

2. Share your happiest /proudest moment in BP?
I am the happiest whenever I get to greet the dogs and prepping them before their fitness sessions! It is a great joy being able to work with these precious furbabies to have them achieve a longer active life! My proudest moment would be when dogs i've been coaching become more confident and amazing at doing their programmes. Also i was so proud when Hanna our resident diva rottweiler swims with me best 🥳
3. Where can we find you if you're not at BP?
You can find me at anime conventions catching all the latest merch and prints!

4. if you're a dog breed what will you be?
HAHA I would like to think that I'm a Rottweiler. Somewhat active, takes time to warm up, and kinda scary🤣🤣

Post-exercise care at Barker & Pooch🛁: Here’s Ryoko enjoying her recovery salt bath! After her intensive workout in the pool, we prepared a warm recovery bath for her to soak in and relieve any aching muscles. The bath also helps to reduce inflammation and allows her to have a better post-exercise recovery😎

We are the first dog fitness gym and cooling indoor pool in Singapore and we looking to recruit individuals who have a strong interest in working with dogs to join our dynamic and vibrant team. We strive to give dogs a longer active life and improve the quality of life for dogs in Singapore by providing specialized fitness programs catering each dog’s fitness level and needs. We work with the owners to engage their dogs in programs that will help achieve optimal physical condition and prevents mobility related illnesses from occurring later on in life.

Basic fitness knowledge

Some experience working with dogs

Keen interest in canine anatomy and sports science
Physically fit and active
Job applicants should be able to work on most weekends and public holidays.

Job Positions Available: Internship, Part-time, Temporary, Full-time, Volunteer

Part-time hours: Minimum 12 per week (Including 1 weekend shift)

Barker & Pooch is a pioneer in using exercise science to develop a dog's physical condition and fitness. We are looking for a customer service representative that can not only handle our customers well, but also are proficient in handling dogs

Requirements

Have had some experience with dog handling, whether personal or professional
Well groomed
Able to speak and communicate well
Has good organizational skills
Customer oriented
Some fitness background would be a bonus
Able to work at least some weekends
