Many people have the impression that if they decide to eat low-carb healthy meals they’ll be relegated to a life of broiled chicken breast and steamed broccoli.... I'd like to dispel this popular misconception 😅 With a little creativity, low-carb meals can be tasty, colourful and satisfying.

Here's our recipe for homemade Crystal Fried Rice using Konjac rice, a low-carb, low-calorie rice substitute made from the Konjac plant which is a type of root vegetable with a high fibre content. 😊

How To Make:
1️⃣ Add diced onions and good-quality coconut oil into a preheated pan. Sauté the onions until golden brown. Add the garlic and chopped French beans. Cook for 10min.

2️⃣ Drain the liquid from the konjac crystal rice packet and add the crystal rice to the pan. Cook until any excess liquid evaporates.

3️⃣ Add 1 tsp of oyster sauce, 2 tsps of light soy sauce, a pinch of salt and the chopped chillis (can adjust the amounts according to taste). Mix well and let simmer.

4️⃣ Add the diced prawns and bacon. Mix well and cook for 5min.

5️⃣ Make a space / “hole” in the centre of the crystal rice mix, crack open the 2 eggs and let them sit and cook in the cleared space at the centre of the pan. Once the eggs are sufficiently cooked, mix them all together with the rest of the crystal rice mix.

6️⃣ Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve!

Our programme consists of 10 progressive classes at a time. We would recommend 2 classes a week for effective learning, for the teachings to "stick". However, if this is not feasible due to work commitments, once a week is fine.

Motherhood changes us irrevocably. Pregnancy itself wreaks havoc on your body in ways you don’t even know is possible until you experience it. But we bear the struggle with pride, joyful to be growing a new life inside us. And when the time finally arrives, we willingly give our lives over to a tiny little being, with our heart full of love. We sacrifice our bodies, our time, and commit to living a life of service to our children so that they grow up happy, healthy and able to face the challenges of our world. That is what being a Mother is.

But in order to be the best mothers to our children, we need to love and care for ourselves too, so we don’t feel depleted and can give our best to our kids. We need to teach by example so our children see that we are healthy, happy and strong. We will never be able to look exactly as we did before - our whole bodies have stretched to house our babies. We have changed, and we should be proud of what our bodies have accomplished. But we can still look after ourselves, eat nutritious food, exercise and get enough rest. We can take care of and feel good about ourselves.

Many people think they aren't strong enough to do a Handstand, or that it is something they could only do as a child. But can you remember why you did it as a child? Because it was fun, because it was exhilarating. Let me assure you, it is just as fun and joyful doing a Handstand as an adult.

AND IT IS NOT AS HARD AS YOU THINK! Especially when we use the wall to help us.

I did a wall assisted Handstand in the very first Yoga class I attended, and I was a complete beginner with no strength training background. The teacher said "Let's walk up the wall and practise beginner Handstands" and I watched disbelievingly as the other students did it with ease. And then I tried it and it was not that hard!! I couldn't believe I could do it. The sense of exhilaration I felt at stepping beyond my comfort zone was thrilling and I was on a high for the rest of the evening.

Inversions like handstands have countless benefits - they relieve neck pain, increase blood flow to the brain thereby improving memory and concentration. Good circulation also brings brightness to the skin making you look younger. And because they are scary to do, inversions also build courage and nudge you out of your familiar comfort zone. They give you a rush and you feel happy after doing it.

Our Zoom classes are not like following a YouTube video or fitness app where no one is actually checking to see if you’re doing it right. This is a private Live class where the teacher is watching and interacting with you personally, and ensuring that you are doing the poses/exercises in a safe and effective way.
