Journeying into - and beyond - the twilight zone, many of modern diving's most accomplished underwater explorers will be sharing their knowledge and experiences as speakers at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference – taking place in conjunction with Singapore’s annual ADEX Show, at the Suntec Exhibition and Conference Centre from 10th - 12th April 2026. Highlighting the science and technology – as well as the guts and determination - that is slowly extending the scope of underwater exploration and discovery, the TeKAsia Conference is a highlight feature of this year’s ADEX Show.

Meet The Speakers (Alphabetically A – Z):
David Strike – Australia
2026 TeKAsia Convenor/Moderator

Taking up active diving in 1961, Australian-based, David Strike is a former military, commercial, scientific, and technical diver with a background in ground-breaking oceanographic research. Qualified on open circuit, as well as rebreathers, surface demand, and standard diving apparatus, Strike is a former recreational and technical diving Instructor and Instructor Certifier whose diving credentials include certifications from ANDI, BSAC, IANTD, PADI, SSI and TDI, as well as the legendary diving company, Siebe-Gorman.

One of the first divers in Australia to embrace Technical Diving, Strike has – among other things - authored several books and diving manuals, and written hundreds of articles about diving that have appeared in publications around the world. Organiser of several world class diving events – with an emphasis on Technical Diving – he is a Fellow of the Explorers Club of New York.

As well as being a co-convenor and Moderator of the 2026 TeKAsia Conference, his presentation, “Cautionary Tales For Tekkies” is an amalgam of experiences learned from a lifetime of ‘near-misses’ with lessons for divers at every level of experience and interest.

Yosh*taka Isaji - Japan

Yosh*taka Isaji is a Japanese underwater explorer and technical diving instructor dedicated to documenting unseen Japanese underwater worlds. The owner of, DIVE Explorers and Chairperson of the Diving Section of the Speleological Society of Japan, he is a full cave and advanced Trimix Instructor.

As the founder of JKUEP(Japan Karst & Underwater Exploration Project), he leads pioneering projects across Japan, including deep-wreck and cave expeditions. His recent missions include the exploration of the submerged Chosei Coal Mine, a war-era underwater site, and the vast limestone cave systems of South Daito Island, revealing new insights into Japan’s hidden underwater heritage. Combining precise technical diving expertise with historical and scientific inquiry, Isaji bridges adventure and research to preserve submerged cultural and natural environments for future generations.

Meet The Speakers ( Alphabetically A – Z):
Yana Stashkevich – U.K.

"Experienced technical CCR, cave, mine, and wreck diver Yana Stashkevich is rapidly making a name for herself when it comes to exploration dives”. Over the past ten years, she has dived in over 35 destinations across three continents, all while balancing a full-time career as a global marketeer for a whisky company.

Yana was a member of the Vaggfjellan XI expedition exploring the cave system located beyond the Arctic Circle in Norway. And more recently a CCR diver on the Underwater Filming & Research team identifying wrecks in Greece.

Currently, Yana is actively involved in a filming project in the Pacific, exploring deep wrecks in the North Sea and photographing and documenting the UK mines.

Yana’s presentations at the TeKAsia Conference includes a talk on Mine Diving in the U.K., as well as the fascinating account of the diving exploration of a sunken WWII Wellington Bomber aircraft in Greece.

Meet The Speakers ( Alphabetically A – Z):
Vishwanath Rajan – India
Diving since 1999, Vish teaches research, technical, and public safety diving, along with courses on marine resource management, coral, and shark conservation. Vish retired from the Indian Navy in 2019 and is the co-founder of Scuba Evolution India in Goa. He aims to widen and further explore and map wrecks, as well as research, submerged subterranean caves and their biota. He received the International Exploration Grant for Cave Exploration from the NSS in 2022 and the Conservation Catalyst Program Grant for Karst Cave Conservation in 2023.

Vish works as a Critical Care Transport and Remote Paramedic in the United States, while also teaching Dive and Remote Medicine at the College of Remote and Offshore Medicine Foundation. Vish has a Master's degree in Nautical Science and Tactical Operations. He completed the prestigious Fellowship in Wilderness Medicine from the Wilderness Medical Society and is pursuing his Doctorate in Health Studies with a focus on Emergency Medical Services in India.

Vish’s presentations at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference includes a Workshop on, ‘Logistics and preparation for diving exploration’, as well as a talk on, ‘Submerged Cave Exploration in India.’

Steve Lewis - Canada

Steve Lewis has built a long and notable career in the dive industry, excelling in both instructional and administrative capacities. Though he's retired from active teaching, he remains a passionate and active cave diver, often quipping that he'll "keep swimming into holes in the ground" as long as he's able.

Lewis is particularly recognized for his unwavering advocacy of safe diving practices. He tirelessly promotes these principles through his extensive work as a speaker, educator, and prolific writer. His bibliography includes dozens of articles and blog posts, along with several published books, his latest being a collection of essays dedicated to the topic of solo diving.

His contributions to exploration and geographical understanding have earned him membership in The Explorers Club and the prestigious title of Member of the College of Fellows of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Currently, Steve Lewis is a partner at Dive RAID International, where he serves as the agency's VP Marketing.

Steve’s presentations at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference includes talks on CCR’s and Training, as well as a fascinating glimpse into cave diving with, “There’s more to Mexico than Tequila & Sunscreen: The Longest Cave System In The World.”

Simon Pridmore – U.K./Hong Kong

One of the pioneers of technical diving in Asia, Simon Pridmore’s diving career spans more than thirty years, during which time he has organised dive tours all around the world, owned a dive centre, run a regional diver training agency and been the international sales manager for a manufacturer of dive computers and rebreathers.

Condensing a little of his vast experience as a dive guide, divemaster, Instructor and Instructor Trainer into the ‘Scuba Confidential’ series of best-selling books, Simon Pridmore is a regular speaker at leading international dive conferences; a prolific writer whose articles have appeared in numerous diving magazines.

Having recently published a major work in two volumes titled, “Technically Speaking: Talks on Technical Diving”, Simon’s presentations at the TeKAsia Conference are must-hear stories of the trials and tribulations that accompanied the emergence of Technical Diving as a valuable tool of scientific exploration.

Samir Alhafith – Australia
Founder and team leader of, The Sydney Project - an association of technical divers involved in researching important historical wrecks in deeper and more challenging locations, and to further document and record historically significant wrecks lying in Australian waters and in overseas locations.

The team has been working recently on deeper sites in local waters, with the aim to 3D map and preserve these historical sites for future divers.

Samir’s talk at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference includes the recent deep expedition, “Diving The, ‘Nemesis’: Discovery and survey of 121-year-old wreck at 160-metres.”

Robin Cuesta – France
Robin Cuesta is a cave diving instructor and cave explorer who has lived in Indonesia for more than ten years. When he is not teaching divers to progress in this harsh environment, he spends his free time exploring new underwater caves all over Indonesia. His Dive Center, Sulawesi Dive Trek, provides quality education about cave diving and rebreather diving, often combining the two to push the bounds of exploration.

His interest in sciences related to caves has driven his passion into Groundwater Studies and conservation. Through his involvement with Indonesian universities and the Indonesian caving community, he hopes to educate and raise awareness about the importance of this vital resource.

Robin’s presentations at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference includes his talk, “When Cave Diving Meets Science”.

Richie Kohler – U.S.A.

Richie Kohler is a filmmaker, author and explorer whose passion for diving has taken him around the globe. A founding member of the Atlantic Wreck Divers, he’s spent 48 years exploring lost shipwrecks and these exploits have been documented in newspapers, magazines, documentary films and numerous books.

Kohlers identification of a lost German U-boat was detailed in the award-winning NOVA documentary, “Hitler’s Lost Sub and NY Times bestselling book, Shadow Divers. His career in filmmaking includes hosting the History Channels Deep Sea Detectives and projects for Fox, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, CBS, PBS/NOVA, National Geographic, and the Discovery Channel.

A Fellow in the Explorer’s Club, he’s written about shipwrecks, deep diving and diver safety and presents at schools, libraries, diving symposiums promoting diving safety, education and awareness. In 2016 he published his first book, Mystery of the Last Olympian, about Titanic’s sister ship HMHS Britannic.

Richie Kohler represents a unique sector of diving professionals with significant contributions to exploration and historical preservation of the ocean’s shipwreck resources.

Meet The Speakers (Alphabetically A – Z):
Richard Taylor – New Zealand

Richard Taylor has over 30 years experience teaching Technical Diving, starting with the deep wrecks off Sydney in the early 90s, including some of the first trimix dives in Australia in 1994.
Regional Director for TDI/SDI for 20 years, past president of Dive Industry associations in both Australia & New Zealand, a member of Standards Australia/NZ & ISO committees, and founder of the OZTeK Diving Exhibition & Conference in 1999.

A founding Member of 'The Sydney Project' mixed gas wreck diving team, Diving Officer for the Australian-Turkish Project AE2 (1997-98) and part of the first mixed gas dive team to explore the Pearce Resurgence Cave in New Zealand, Richard Taylor has taught hundreds of technical divers and Instructors around the world and continues to teach today for SDI/TDI as one of the few Instructor Trainer Evaluators and member of their Training Advisory Panel.

He is a Technical Specialist in Occupational Diving for WorkSafe New Zealand, advising on the licencing and safe practice for all occupational divers including science, film, aquaculture, recreational, safety and commercial/construction diving.

A moderator at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference, Richard also gives a talk on, “The Importance of Open Circuit in Technical Diving.”

Por Parasu Komaradat – Thailand

Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, Por Parasu Komaradat, has a background in mathematics and computer science, and spent several years studying and working in the United States. Trained in cave diving in Florida, Thailand and Mexico, and, teaching since 2010, Por Parasu Komaradat is an Instructor Trainer for cave diving, CCR, and Trimix with TDI, IANTD, and SSI. Taking part in various exploration projects across Asia, his main interests are cave diving, mapping, and the ecology of underwater cave systems.

Por Parasu Komaradat’s presentations at the 2026 TeKAsia Conference include, “Anchialine and Subterranean Fauna in Asian Cave Systems.”, highlighting the unique ecosystems found in Asian underwater caves - featuring species like blind fish, sulfur-eating bacteria, and deep-dwelling shrimp – and how every dive offers a chance to discover new life: and a not-to-be-missed workshop session on, “The Liquid Dojo: Forging a Diver Through the Principles of Martial Arts and Zen.”, and how divers can transform a high-risk activity into a profound practice for cultivating discipline, humility, and calm under extreme pressure.
