China life Insurance Singapore 48th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships will be held
The National Age Group Swimming Championships is an annual high performance swimming competition held in Singapore, organized by the Singapore Swimming Association. This swim meet is the first national swimming competition held in the year that sees young swimmers from the different club affiliates to compete in their age group. The National Age Group is broken into the junior (8 to 12 years) and
senior (13 years old and above) segment, which creates a total of 113 different events for swimmers to participate in should they meet the Qualifying Entry Time. In this meet, records are consistently broken as the National Age Group serves as a platform for young swimmers’ timings to be officially endorsed in their quest to FINA sanctioned events such as the Olympics. As such, the National Age Group Swimming Championships is one of the few domestic swimming championships to recognize and select the top swimmers to join Team Singapore in international swimming competitions such as SEA Games, Asian Games, FINA World Swimming Championship, and the Olympics. Each year, the National Age Group Swimming Championships garners participation of over 1,000 young swimmers from over 40 SSA club affiliates and a minority of foreign swimmers from other countries. Comprising of swimming individuals and clubs, both local and international, it is a highly competitive swimming event that fosters sportsmanship and competitiveness among young athletes, whilst welcoming the opportunity to compete with peers within their age group.
