If you're a over 40 trying to eat clean but feels like she has no willpower…
This might sound familiar.
You’re at a party and decide to have a piece of cake (or other treat).
Suddenly you're eating it in three guilty bites while mentally calculating many minutes you’ll need to spend on the rower to “burn it off.”
Guilt eating doesn't help you eat less.
Instead, it triggers your "I already blew it" reflex, which can lead to eating more than you intended.
The guilt does more damage than the dessert.
And here's why it happens: we've been taught to moralize food by labeling it as “good” or “bad.”
We treat it like something we "cheat" on or need to "earn."
But in reality, what’s really important is whether it moves you closer to or farther from your goals... or nourishes your body in some way.
And sometimes? A little bit of cake makes your taste buds happy. That counts too.
Try this instead if you decide to enjoy the cake:
✅ Put it on a plate
✅ Sit down
✅ Actually taste it
✅ Enjoy the moment
✅ Move on with your day
❤️ Save this for the next time you need the reminder
