The 39th edition of the LifeStar Malta Marathon kicked off this morning, braving thundery weather conditions that blanketed the Maltese islands. Over 3,500 athletes stood at the starting line, undeterred by the inclement weather. The Marathon featured the gruelling 42.2km full marathon, the 21km half marathon, and a walkathon, all in support of Hospice Malta. Since its inception in 1986, the Malta Marathon has provided athletes with a formidable challenge, showcasing thrilling routes adorned with breathtaking views of the Maltese islands. #MaltaDaily Video Credit: Keith Demicoli.

🧡🖤📝Journal of our Extreme Winter Expedition to Mount Triglav🏔️🖤🧡

🧗🏻‍♀️ Today marks the beginning of our daring journey on Mount Triglav.
🎒 Yesterday evening we packed ropes, tools, clothes and equipment ensuring we had all we needed to face the challenges that lay ahead of us. Despite our attempts at minimalism, our bags weigh a hefty 30kgs, a testament to the demanding nature of this expedition.

⏰️ The journey officially commenced at 5 a.m. when we (who both share the passion to test our limits), set out on the ascent of the mountain. So far it has been challenging with the weight on our backs and the unforgiving terrain beneath our feet. Yet the thrill of the expedition is giving us the drive to move on.

❄️ Conditions are harsh, with temperatures plummeting to a bone-chilling -11degrees Celsius. However, there is a silver-lining as the skies are so far mostly clear and sunny.

⛺️ Our goal for the day is to locate a suitable spot to spend the night, aiming to reach it around noon. Once there we plan to build our camp using whatever resources the mountain provides. The prospect of creating a makeshift shelter amidst this rugged environment adds an extra layer of challenge to our already audacious endeavour.

💪 We are anticipating both physical and mental challenges along the day but we will support each other so that our aim is reached.
