The final lead up to our home World Series competition in Koper is here and we gathered to share our thoughts about the season so far, our ambitions for the upcoming competition and all the things that make us look forward to this weekend.

"The style of the routes has changed a lot in the last 20 years. You have to climb much faster and more dynamically. The holds are much more rounded, which requires more physical strength. Then there are some coordination jumps, which are very spectacular for the spectators. So I'm glad that I'm just a spectator and that the rock, where I still climb a lot, remains the same."

Se mi pa zdi, da se je stil smeri v zadnjih 20 letih zelo spremenil. Plezati je treba precej hitreje in bolj dinamično. Oprimki so veliko bolj zaobljeni, za kar je potrebna večja telesna moč. Potem so tukaj še kaki koordinacijski skoki, ki so za gledalce sicer zelo spektakularni. Tako da sem vesela, da sem samo gledalka ter da skala, kjer še vedno veliko plezam, ostaja taka, kot je bila.«

For Lučka Rakovec this medal completes a long journey that she's been on for the last few years.
From her cancer diagnosis, to taking a step back from competitive climbing (and her Olympic ambitions) to focus on recovery and then making her competitive comeback last year.

Her performance at the European Championship this weekend consolidates her comeback and shows that a bronze medal can sometimes shine as bright as gold.

Lučka Rakovec claims bronze 🥉 after an exciting final at the European Championship in Laval, stepping back on the podium after 7 years.

A well executed route and a great confidence boost for the upcomimg home competition in Koper in just a couple of days.

Lučka Rakovec and 🎀 ＭＩＡ ＫＲＡＭＰＬ 🎀 are our ECH Laval finalists ⚡️⚡️Can't wait to cheer for the bestie duo in the final 🤩

Ideally we would have wanted to see more of our climbers in the final, Lucija Tarkuš came super close in 9th place 🤏 followed by Luka Potočar in 15th in the men's semi final and in 20th place.
