The BENETAU First SE Challenge conquered. New lessons learned. Batteries full — and the feeling still there, don't you agree?

You cannot hide on the water.
You cannot fake anything.
The sea strips everything away and leaves only what is real — the wind, the waves, and the person next to you.

66 crews, different languages, different backgrounds, different boats. But at the end — out there, in the dark, in the calm, in the gusts — completely the same.
Being fully present is spectacular. Even when the presence is not always pleasant.
maybe especially then. That is where the growth happens, and the magic begins.
That is where the JOY lives.💙

Challenges of our biggest fleet - FIRST 18 SE
Here is a special kind of magic that happens when you are sailing on a 5,5m sailing boat, you're exhausted, the wind is changing, and you're fighting for every inch of speed.

The First 18 SE fleet lived that magic this year. While Dejan Presen and Dénes Szilágyi on Blue Sardina 2 found another gear to take the win, the battle for the remaining podium spots was a testament to why we race. We saw a fierce, three-way fight where 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place were decided by a combined total of only nine seconds after more than 22 hours of sailing💪🙌💪. That tiny difference is the reward for every tiny trim, shift made during the challange.

BENETEAUT First SE Challenge 2026 ⛵

The First 27 SE One-design fleet had a good fight throughout the entire race across the Adriatic. With offshore experienced sailors on the starting line, the level of competition was incredibly high, making every mile count.

Every double-handed crew pushed themselves out of their comfort zone as the wind shifted, demanding constant readjustments and total focus. But that is exactly where the magic happens—it’s in those tough moments that we find the true joy in sailing&racing.

It was a true game of minutes at the front, with the top three boats pushing each other until the very end.

BENETEAU FIRST SE CHALLENGE 2026

Every single boat in this fleet battled till to the finish line, showing the spirit of this community. While the lead was eventually secured by the experienced Gorda team—who proved their mastery once again after winning the First SE Challenge before—the chase was on for every second of the 21+ hours at the Adriatic sea.
