Spoštovani,
izgubili smo Urbana.
Poslovil se je od nas hitro, nevidno in v tišini. Poslovil se je na način na kakršnega je deloval vseh 14 let v slovenskem curlingu.
Nikoli ne bomo pozabili, kako je prvo leto vozil soprogo ireno na treninge in stal ob bandi ter jo opazoval, kako je njegova draga ubirala prve korake v slovenskem curlingu. Tiho in mirno. Tak je bil. In ni se dal prepričati, da bi tudi sam preskusil. Šele naslednje leto se nam je pridružil tudi sam na ledu in kmalu postal eden nosilnih stebrov slovenske curlinga. Dvanajst let je bil stalni član upravnega odbora in brez njega si težko predstavljam kako bomo šli naprej. Kdo bo vsako jutro ob šetstih odpiral dvorano in zalival led, kdo bo šel med zadnjimi domov, ko bo pomirjen ugotovil, da je vse urejeno in pripravljeno za naslednji tekmovalni dan. Kolikokrat je brez vprašanja vozil otroke na treninge in tekmovanja po Evropi. Ni ga bilo dogodka, da ne bi bil pripravljen pomagati in graditi nas čudoviti curling šport. Njegov dom je postalo skladišče curling opreme, nadomestnih delov, pralnica za mopse. Hvala ti Urban, hvala ti za vse. In ostal boš med nami, saj ni smrt tisto kar nas loči in ni življenje tisto ki nas druži. S teboj so se stkale vezi, ki so močnejše, brez pomena zanje so razdalje, kraj in čas. Za vedno boš v naših srcih in mislih.

We lost Urban.
He said goodbye to us quickly, invisibly and in silence. He said goodbye in the way he had worked for all 14 years in Slovenian curling.
We will never forget how he drove his wife Irene to training the first year and stood by the gang and watched her as his sweetheart took her first steps in Slovenian curling. Quiet and peaceful. That's how he was. And he didn't let himself be convinced to try it himself. Only the following year did he join us on the ice and soon became one of the pillars of Slovenian curling. He was a permanent member of the board of directors for twelve years and without him I have a hard time imagining how we will move forward. Who will open the hall every morning at six and water the ice, who will be among the last to go home when he calmly finds that everything is in order and ready for the next competition day. How many times did he drive the children to training and competitions around Europe without asking. There was no event that he was not ready to help and build our wonderful curling sport. His home became a warehouse for curling equipment, spare parts, a pug laundry. Thank you Urban, thank you for everything. And you will remain among us, because death is not what separates us and life is not what brings us together. With you, bonds were forged that are stronger, distances, place and time are meaningless to them. You will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.
