Topic: From Athlete to Community Leader: Shaping the Water Sports Scene

Damjan Možina, founder of Slovenia’s first ASIaccredited SUP school and owner of SUPklub Ljubljana, shares how athletic credibility, community building, and strategic event development can drive the growth of emerging sports and elevate industry standards.

His leadership has helped shape Slovenia’s modern SUP culture and establish flagship gatherings that attract paddlers from across Europe.

With a background in adventure sports—from mountain biking, paragliding, diving, skiing, and even acrobatic rock’n’roll dancing—Damjan brings a uniquely diverse skill set to the task. He is also an ASI SUP Instructor Trainer, an experienced event organiser/ race director behind major national events - Ljubljanica SUP Challenge and the Bohinj SUP Challenge.

Damjan’s presentation provides instructors with practical insights into turning coaching experience into leadership opportunities, strengthening community engagement, and building sustainable pathways for longterm growth within the watersports industry.

Gre za izključno 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐧𝐨 𝐢𝐳𝐯𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐨, ki služi preverjanju usklajenosti postopkov in komunikacije med službami. Opozarjamo vse obiskovalce Bohinjskega jezera, da 𝐧𝐞 𝐯𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐣𝐨 𝐯 𝐤𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐳𝐚 𝐳𝐚𝐣𝐞𝐦 𝐯𝐨𝐝𝐞, in prosimo za razumevanje in upoštevanje morebitnih varnostnih navodil pristojnih služb.

We would like to inform you that today, 18 September 2025, a water scooping operation with AIR TRACTOR firefighting aircraft ✈️ will take place at Lake Bohinj. The first aircraft pass is scheduled for 10:30 AM. ‼️

Please note that this is only a test exercise, intended to verify coordination procedures and communication between the involved services.

We kindly ask all visitors of Lake Bohinj not to enter the designated water scooping corridor and to follow any safety instructions issued by the competent authorities.

For further information, please follow official announcements or contact the responsible services.

All activities outside the designated corridor are permitted and will continue without disruption.
