This autumn we were invited to work on a gaming project called Greyhill Incident by developer and publisher Refugium Games. 🎮

Our part was to record motion capture to animate the 3D character Bob.
With an actor we recorded Bob's full-body gestures, movements of hands with fingers, and also the head with facial mimics and expressions, all captured with innovative technology, such as facial camera, mocap sensor suit and gloves for finger tracking.

At Ars Studio Avsenik we offer the full-body motion capture including fingers tracking with props:
🔹 one-handed props (objects held with one hand like pen, bottle, spoon, phone)
🔹 two-handed props (objects held with both hands like hammer, sword, tennis racket, tools) and
🔹 complex props (instruments: violin, accordion; bottles with caps, etc.).

We work with actors (musicians, sportsmen, professional actors, and others) skilled in handling different props to capture high quality movements with props.

To bring a 3D Slavko Avsenik to a digital revival we needed to animate it. How, you ask? 🤷‍♂️

To animate the 3D digital double we recorded motion capture with a complex prop (the accordion) with Avsenik's impersonator, who played on the accordion and imitated Avsenik's moves, while wearing mocap suit and gloves which were tracking movements of fingers. The cleaned mocap data was then transferred on the 3D model. The animation is now completed and ready to use.

Guess who would be a better person to do the impersonation than Slavko Avsenik's grandson himself, named Sašo!

A while ago we at Ars Studio Avsenik created a 3D Digital Double of Slavko Avsenik, which is a 3D digitized character of a legendary Slovenian musician 🎶🎵 created by using computer-generated images.
