Yesterday in my training we worked on Stable and Unstable (off-balance) movement quality.

How to move and dance through space while being totally stable in every movement?
When you think about it, it sounds easy, but when you try it, you realize that every few split seconds, you are out of balance, you are unstable.

The thing is … when you want to have movement or situation all the time stable, you need to engage with your core energy and will. To have a balance, you need to expand your core energy, and to have power, you need to compress that energy …

And it’s really hard work because you can’t stay in one of them all the time. You are constantly thrown into the opposite, from stabile into unstable and back to stabile.

You all know situations or moments in your life when you felt there was no ground beneath your feet, that there was nothing to grab, that you didn’t know what to do next, that everything was very insecure, unpredictable … unstable?

This feeling is very natural, we are just afraid of it. But how to accept this quality and move and function inside of it without fears?

It’s about letting go! It’s just like sky diving. You jump from the airplane, and while falling you grow wings and learn to fly… because at the end of the flying there is always a stable quality:)
