*5 goals final day, and final heartbreak for Abacha City*

Abacha City gave their fans one last party on Saturday July 18, thrashing FC Kallon 5-0 at the Approved School Field. The problem: it came too late.

The goals started early. Delvin Davies broke the deadlock in the 11th minute. FC Kallon tried to hit back, but Abacha’s defense had other plans.

After the break, Abacha turned on the style. James Kargbo scored in the 65th minute, Emerson Amos made it three 60 seconds later, and Kargbo grabbed his second in the 68th to complete the rout.

Kallon pressed for a consolation but couldn’t break through Abacha’s wall at the back.

The 5-0 victory was Abacha’s biggest of the season. Yet as the cheers faded, the reality set in: the win wasn’t enough. Abacha City have been relegated to Division One.

A brilliant final day. A bitter ending.

*Bedor’s early strike and final day nerves keep Wusum Stars up*

One early goal. One missed penalty. And one massive sigh of relief. Wusum Stars are staying in the Leone Rock Premier League after a 1-1 draw with Star Sport Academy at Bo Coronation Field sealed their survival on the final day.

Alpha Bedor Conteh struck early, finishing a pinpoint pass from Sembu Koroma to give Wusum the lead and hope. The Stars then produced a disciplined defensive performance to frustrate the league runners-up.

But the game turned in the 70th minute. Senessie Janneh equalized for Star Sport, and suddenly Wusum’s fate was out of their hands. The tension peaked in the 87th minute when Wusum won a penalty. Mohamed S. Koroma stepped up... and missed.

Then came the news from elsewhere: SLIFA had gone down, and Mighty Blackpool’s win over Bo Rangers meant Wusum were safe. The final whistle sparked wild celebrations. Star Sport’s Shaka Sesay took Man of the Match honors for keeping the scoreline down.

Wusum live to fight another season.

*Diamond Stars beat Bai Bureh Warriors 3-2 to stay in the Premier League*

Diamond Stars FC secured their place in the Leone Rock Premier League with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Bai Bureh Warriors FC on Saturday July 18 at the Port Loko Stadium, in a final day thriller.

The visitors side struck early with Abubakarr Fornah opened the scoring in the opening minutes to give Diamond Stars the lead and settle early nerves.

Diamond Stars grew in confidence and created a series of chances before the break. Their pressure paid off after halftime when substitute Mohamed Thorley found the back of the net with a brilliant individual effort to make it 2-0.

Bai Bureh Warriors responded with discipline and composure. After making changes from the bench, Koliko P. Haba pulled one back, finishing a pass from Sanpha Kamara to get the Warriors back in the game.

The second half was played at high intensity, with both teams sharing possession as the stakes became clear. Sanpha Kamara continued his fantastic form this season and leveled the scoreline, restoring hope and belief among the Bai Bureh supporters.

But Diamond Stars had the final say. Mohamed Thorley came off the bench and struck again, netting his second of the afternoon to make it 3-2 and dent Warriors’ comeback hopes.

The win confirms Diamond Stars’ survival in the Premier League for another season. While Bai Bureh Warriors secured the spot of the league standings with 57 points.

*Kollie goal keeps Mighty Blackpool up, as Bo Rangers celebrate 4th title*

Mighty Blackpool secured their place in the Leone Rock Premier League with a 1-0 victory over newly crowned champions Bo Rangers FC at a packed Southern Arena on Saturday July 18.

The "Tis Tas Boys" went into the final day knowing only a win would guarantee survival. Facing the league champions made the task daunting, but Mighty Blackpool rose to the occasion.

The decisive moment came in the 56th minute when defender Moses D. Kollie scored the only goal of the match with a composed finish, sparking wild celebrations among the “Tis Tas” faithful.

Kollie was outstanding at both ends. He produced a commanding defensive display to keep the Bo Rangers attack at bay and was deservedly named Man of the Match at the Southern Arena.

Despite the defeat, Bo Rangers had already wrapped up the title with two games to spare. They were officially crowned Leone Rock Premier League champions after the final whistle, lifting their fourth league title in five seasons. The champions now turn their focus to representing Sierra Leone in the CAF Champions League.

When the final whistle blew, the Southern Arena erupted. Bo Rangers celebrated a historic triumph, while Mighty Blackpool rejoiced in preserving their top-flight status.

Blackpool’s survival was all the more remarkable given a turbulent season. The club parted ways with its head coach Musa Jalloh ‘Yellow Man’ ahead of the decider, and the chairman also stepped down. But one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and most decorated clubs delivered when it mattered most.
