‼️Urgent Update ‼️
Wednesday 4th October, 2023.
Greetings Kenematonians,
I bring you warm greetings from the Land of Wisdom.
As opined by Martin Luther King Jr, ‘’Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere’’.
It is against this backdrop that I am informing you all that the unfair treatment of Kamboi Eagles has been brought to the attention of CAF and FIFA respectively.
This journey started way before the demise of our late chairman AKK Esq in whose words he re-echoed resilience.
May his soul rest in peace!
Details about this will be communicated in due course.

*GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN*
*UPDATE ON THE FUNERAL OF AKK*
In a heartfelt tribute to the late Abdul Karim Koroma Esq (AKK), a man known for his commitment to humanity, a committee comprising of former colleagues, friends, and brothers, achieved a significant milestone onntue 2nd of September, 2023.
AKK's legacy, which is deeply woven into Kenema city and Sierra Leone at large, touched countless lives.
When deciding his final resting place, we believed his impact deserved a spot among the city's heroes. After marathon engagements with influential traditional stakeholders, including the *Hon Paramount Chief of Nongowa, PC S.M Kapuwa, former and current Mayors, Town Chief, and Custodians of our land* we sought direction, guidance, and eventually permission to *lay AKK to rest in the revered HERO SQUARE, kept for exceptional and distinguished individuals.*
Though the task was challenging, but AKK's extraordinary dedication to uplifting the young generations made him a hero in our hearts and the hearts of many stakeholders. After relentless efforts, the stakeholders, including the Paramount Chief of Nongowa Chiefdom, graciously gave a non-exception to our plea.
The signs are clearer that our fallen hero, AKK, will be laid eternally at the HERO SQUARE, where his life and legacy shall continue to inspire future generations.
This success showcases the power of unity and one person's selfless acts. It demonstrates what a community can achieve when united behind a common cause. Today, AKK's memory lives on in the hearts and soil of Kenema city, where he rightfully stands among its heroes.
*Rest in perpetual peace, Abdul Karim Koroma Esq (AKK)!🙏🏾😭*

In the heart of Kenema District football landscape lies our once-mighty Kamboi Eagles, a historic football club that has witnessed the highs and lows of the beautiful game. For decades, we were a powerhouse in the provinces, mesmerizing our fans with top-notch performances and a fearless spirit. However, in recent times, a dark cloud has cast its shadow over us, leading to our heartbreaking relegation from the Sierra Leone Premier League. The reasons behind this downfall are no secret - inadequate financial support from stakeholders and woeful club management deficiencies have crippled our soaring Eagles.
Once a symbol of pride for the people of Kenema, our club's troubles began to surface as our star players slowly slipped through our fingers like grains of sand.
As football became more of a business than a sport, the cold truth dawned upon us - money dictates the game. While other top clubs like Bo Rangers and East End Lions attracted wealthy investors and lucrative sponsorships, we struggled to keep up. The lack of funding began to show on the pitch, and as we couldn't afford to retain our best players, our team's performance started to dwindle. The club lost valuable players such as Ibrahim Turay, Abubakarr Kanu, and coach Abedi, who joined close town rivals, Bo Rangers. Top striker Ron Gandy-Williams returned to Freetown. The club couldn't adequately replace the leadership of players like Pa Joe and Junior Kella, who had left.
Gone were the days of glory when we soared high, and our supporters roared with pride. The players who once donned our famous green and white jersey with passion and determination were replaced by a mediocre squad, comprising mostly young, inexperienced talents. Without proper investment, we failed to nurture and develop young talents into the stars of tomorrow. It was a vicious cycle, as poor performances led to dwindling fan support, which, in turn, made it even harder for us to raise crucial financial revenue. I lost count of the number of managers since Abedi left.
While our efforts on the field were commendable, it was evident that our morale suffered due to the lack of support from our club management and stakeholders. The management, entrusted with the responsibility of steering us to success, failed to make the tough decisions and institute effective policies that could have prevented our downfall. Instead, they turned a blind eye to our struggles, and their inaction proved to be the final nail in the coffin.
Our once-lustrous Kenema City field, which served as the Eagles' formidable eyrie, now bore witness to emptiness and echoes of nostalgia. The passionate chants of our supporters were replaced by silence as we missed a crucial penalty in the penultimate match against Freetown City FC that could have saved our season. It was a heart-wrenching sight, watching our once-great club crumble under the weight of mismanagement and financial constraints.
The footballing world must take note of our plight, for it serves as a poignant reminder of the harsh realities of modern football. It is a tale of caution for other clubs, urging them to prioritize proper financial planning and competent management. Football may be a sport of passion and love, but it cannot survive without the support of stakeholders who are willing to invest in its future.
As the dust settles on our relegation, there is a glimmer of hope that one day, we will rise from the ashes and reclaim our position amongst Sierra Leone's footballing elite. But until that day comes, our fall from grace will serve as a somber testament to the power of mismanagement and the importance of financial backing in the beautiful game.
